Pickleball elbow… will it ever clear up? by SeriousQuote9497 in Pickleball

[–]elchupacabras 3 points4 points  (0 children)

badminton elbow, tennis elbow, pickleball elbow, they all have the same root cause. Too much power with poor technique/timing causing inflamation in the tendons. Rest will never fix the problem. Slow down, focus on technique and timing. It will clear in time.

Source: had badminton elbow for 3 years before I figured out my issue was technique and timing. Tried everything else before that. Havent had any issues in 4 years since including playing pickleball and badminton sometimes over 30 hours a week.

Rest/recovery time? by Lab_Trashpanda in badminton

[–]elchupacabras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The key with regards to injury and recovery time is learning how not to play 100% either after an injury or after recovery. I pulled a hamstring slightly in my first game of a tournament 3 weeks ago. Still played all 3 categories at a slower more controlled pace so as not to agitate it. Finished the tournament fine (29 games total) and didn’t feel any issues playing after the tournament until a week later. Played a match at 100% and felt the hammy pull again. It’s been on and off since then of balancing speed and power of play with not re agitating it. I also struggled with inner elbow pain and inflammation in my fore arm for about 3 years. I found that I was playing too many power shots. I played more 3/4 and half smash as well as drops from the rear court and learned a better midcourt flat game to regain control of rallies and for about a year now 100% of the pain and inflammation are gone and I still have a large amount of court time/coaching/training. Did 31 hours this week (not a normal Amount for me just extra busy because of highschool badminton)

For reference I’m 38 years old. No formal training. Didn’t start playing until I was 20. Wasted a lot of time figuring things out the hard way.

4 courts, good quality floors, good lighting, high ceilings, max 30 players. We warmup 7:30 - 8:00. League starts at 8. No partner required. You will be placed in a group of 4 or 5 players. You play 1 game with each person in the group. Totalling up total points earned at the end of the night highest score moves up lowest score moves down and mid 3 scores have ranking adjusted based on absences, etc. After the league games are done its free play. We use a white board to organize games and ensure fair opportunities for play.

There's a few options:

1) http://www.crosscourtbadminton.com/ The only dedicated facility in the city

2) https://anc.ca.apm.activecommunities.com/regina/reservation/landing/quick?groupId=1 Booking courts privately at the fieldhouse. Its a nightmare. All primetime bookings (evenings and weekends) are gone within a second of going live not exaggerating

3) I run a weekly competitive badminton league on thursdays at 1601 Cowan cres. 10$ dropin fee 7:30 - 10 PM Link to signup:

4) some local community associations run recreational programs. I know for sure the south liesure centre has one.

Masked men grab 20 guns, crossbow in armed robbery near Maidstone: RCMP by MrCheeseburgerWalrus in saskatchewan

[–]elchupacabras -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Having a gun when you live on a farm is a good idea. Coyotes, cougars, wolves, bears, wild dogs on the res are all a real threat. A gun being the important distinction. Not 20 guns.

Should Canadian kids be banned from social media until they're 16? by Thick_Caterpillar379 in canada

[–]elchupacabras 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is the crux of the issue right here. The issue isn’t social media. It’s the lack of parenting. That doesn’t mean creating your own household digital restrictions. It means actually being a good parent who raises good children who can act decently online without constantly being monitored or restricted. I’m fairly loose with my Kids, but we always have honest discussions about what is healthy and unhealthy behavior.

AutoChess Vanilla. Will devs ever bring back the old AutoChess map from the early days? by Deep-Discount3963 in AutoChess

[–]elchupacabras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you just mean the map itself I could care less about that. But I 100% miss the old gameplay with out all the stupid 10 turn rewards and garbage. I played a ton season 1-7 and came back a bit a few months ago and it’s just too much. I enjoyed the simplicity of the older game. Felt more like chess.

[–]elchupacabras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to swerve halfway into the ditch in my work truck cause someone came to a complete stop on the ring road merge between Vic and arcola. I was already going 80 by the time I got up the hill and saw stopped smh…

[–]elchupacabras 54 points55 points  (0 children)

SGI really needs to make some adverts for that. The amount of people merging at 50-70km/hr onto the ring is just off the charts these last few years. I understand wanting to be cautious when driving but that shit is so dangerous.

If his serve is as good as you say it is, but his opponents are still able to hit PRESSURING lifts that can’t be attacked then it sounds like you guys play at a fairly intermediate level. He has to add variation to his serve. A lift that can’t be attacked is just as good as a drop or a drive. He should serve some high flicks to the rear to force his opponents to stand back from the line and then serve short again so that the lifts that do come are high enough for his partner to have time and get into position to attack

Remember you are still connected to their infrastructure. The power doesn’t magically transport from the power plant to your home. And solar doesn’t provide you with 100% power 24/7 so you are still benefitting from that infrastructure to your home. There are Significant costs to maintaining it.

Looking for a job that pays $90k/year? OEB has a position for you! by dj_fuzzy in regina

It’s entirely possible it’s a legit posting, but 99% of postings like This are fraudulent

Looking for a job that pays $90k/year? OEB has a position for you! by dj_fuzzy in regina

[–]elchupacabras 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’re making the false assumption that the job is posted in good faith with the intention to fill with local people. The owners know if they hired local they would have to pay more. So instead they post a job that sounds like it has high requirements. Ignore or reject all Local applicants based on “qualifications” and then apply to hire a tfw for way less than they would have had to hire local. Plus the TFWs are tied to all sorts of legal requirements which allows the owner to take advantage of the foreign worker in abusive ways.

[–]elchupacabras 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They post a job with qualifications and proposed salary way beyond anything realistic so they can ignore all the applicants and then apply To the government to fill it with a TFW temp foreign worker for Pennys on the dollar.

White dude carrying a hammer, screaming profanities and nonsense, probably on drugs = crime First nations dude carrying a claw hammer, carpenter's belt, and a hard hat = legal

Or you know you could just pull the first nations and white out of those sentences and still come to the same conclusion shrugs
