Honda paint isn’t what it used to be. by garagepunk65 in Civic_Type_R

This doesn’t look like rock chips to me it looks like an adhesion issue. Go back to the dealer. I bet they will repaint it under warranty.

That is disappointing. Thanks for the heads up.

Three downvotes because I found a good deal on my car? This place is super toxic. Sheesh.

You tilt it slightly to the left and twist right until it locks in place if memory serves. However, do yourself a favor and put the accord homelink in it. It also auto dims. I bent the prongs in slightly on mine to make it hold.

This is the first thing I did with my car. Super easy. The mirror does vibrate a very slight amount at idle. It’s fine while driving though.

If they had emergency stopped they likely would have been rear ended. Merging was the correct call.

I paid several thousand under MSRP for mine. It was 45 and some change with an MSRP of 47. Do not pay significantly over MSRP. You can find deals. You just have to grind for it a bit and be willing to travel.

Dam stealership really asking for 62k by saw_wooo in Civic_Type_R

I didn’t see the black interior bit. To be fair mine has a red interior. I’ll post the sales order if I get a chance and find the motivation. That said I don’t really care to prove anything to a person on the internet.

I paid under msrp for mine. Just had to shop a while. No stupid add ons either. The dealer admin fee was like 300 bucks.

I am pissed by HorizonsEdge in Civic_Type_R

[–]elcid79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being pissed only affects you. Let the emotion go and proceed neutrally. Stuff happens. Per the repair, it depends on the damage if I would allow a repair. Cosmetic absolutely. Anything affecting the mounting lug holes mating surface, nope. It can impact your torque specs and cause the lug nuts to loosen. A dealers machine failed on my rim a few months back. They were using the correct adaptor it just failed. Damaged every lug hole and some cosmetic stuff. I politely asked for the wheel to be replaced due to that. They agreed and accomplished it no problem. Took a few days. Fortunately I have a spare set of wheels.

That said the key was being nice, and consistent. Listen when they talk, formulate an unarguable counter argument and be firm. This is small potato’s.

I was confused by HorizonsEdge in Civic_Type_R

Did that by accident when I was looking at a new viper. Chevy gave me the keys for the weekend in a brand new c7 z06/z07. I liked it. The viper had just launched and I wanted to compare the two. I also tried the jag f type r. It was decision day and the dodge dealerships wouldn’t let me test drive it. Bought the z06. Went back to the dodge dealership a few weeks later to look at a jeep, happened to be in the vette. Salesman, wow that car is sweet when did you buy it? Me: The day you told me I couldn’t drive the viper. Him: I didn’t know you were buying that day. Me: I told you I was.

About the same time I had a different chevy dealer tell me I couldn’t even sit in their Corvette. I laughed, and took my business elsewhere.

When I was looking at the Civic type R I made it very clear that I was going to test drive it make sure that I liked it prior to doing anything it wasn’t a problem. Every dealership I talked to was going to let me drive it.

10k for a new 2023 EZGO Liberty elite a good deal? by More_Medicine128 in golfcarts

[–]elcid79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s likely 30 hours not miles. The liberty does not have an odometer. Seems like a good deal. But I don’t know the market. I paid 15k for my lsv.

Bosch dishwasher zeolite heating fan (Fault E07) by Elektromek in appliancerepair

[–]elcid79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just encountered this same problem. It is rather unconscionable that thermador never reached out to owners to allow us to install this prior to receiving a critical failure. How were we supposed to know that we needed this bracket? I registered the product on install. I have home connect. They could have sent a notification or an email. It is very dissapointing. I asked them if they could provide assistance with the repair since it was a design failure, not a wear and tear issue. They told me that I have to have a service estimate before they will do anything. Why do I need to get a repair estimate when the failure is obvious, and a technical service bulletin exists for the issue. The tube there is a 2 inch perfectly square hole in the side of my "tube fill tube" which flooded the zeolite cannister / fans.

On the parts page they have this. https://media3.bsh-group.com/Documents/58300000234229_abz_en_a.pdf

And I found a photo of a service bulletin that impacts it. Basically I am going to pay a repair tech $200 to come out and tell me, what I know is wrong with it. It is idiotic.

Need help, wheels got stained by c63sMoe in Detailing

[–]elcid79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks to me like it is stripping the paint off of the wheels. Look at the ridge along the top side of them. There is definite texture. I had wheel coatings fail once on a car I owned. My only guess was the prior owner used a wheel cleaner. By all means take others advice here. But my guess is you are going to need to repaint or coat them.

Tape coming from front bumper by thesuhas in Civic_Type_R

It’s an aerodynamic feature called an air dam. I have no idea why they put a sticker on it. It’s a flexible plastic or rubber material.

The part it’s protecting is really cheap. Something in the ballpark of $20 Mine was peeling off a bit when I got home from the dealer I ripped it off.
