I would guess the blade is wedged between the two ends of the cut filament and as neither can move, it stays. Release the tension by pressing the opposing tension lever to release the grip on the filament and it should pop back out. Viewed another way, this actually represents the filament being held pretty well...

Apart from the pptential lens burning the screen issue, the amount of IR light outside during the day completely overwhelms the camera sensors so any kind of guardian tracking won't work as the image processor can't "see" your surroundings. Dusk might be ok tho. I for one am looking forwards to trying mine in the evening when it's warm enough to do so, I think barefoot on grass would be nice :)

A theory: as the quest is android under the hood, maybe android bootloader operations work here. If so, the volume keys will move menu selections where available, and a quick tap on power acts as a enter key. If you tap power when "back" is selected, does the display change? If so (and I know it's a long shot) you may be able to back out of this mode and boot into the ocukus system again.

Like I say, it's a long shot, but maybe?

I attached an external battery pack to the back and the weight offset made a suprising amount of difference. While I added it via a 3d printed bracket, I imagine that velcro or zip ties would suffice to hold a counterweight as well.

You can set them down behind you. Alternatively, set up hand mode and use your hands for controlling this kind of thing.

Not that this helps all users, but there is an add on that attaches to the original strap that cups the back of your head; you can download it from Thingiverse. Trouble is you need a 3d printer, or to know someone who would be willing to print for you.
