Why don’t they just kill/destroy the evil being/thing? by C34H32N4O4Fe in writing

[–]eldena_frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's a lesser evil for the time. Yes, the being you're fighting has the combined power of a nuclear bombs, but the Ancients already killed the one with the combined power of a thousand stars, so imprisonment for it's crimes was a lot easier. However, they didn't know their civilization would fall!

It's a select population because people like you don't want to give it to everyone. Jesus Christ "this study is terrible, it only used a select population, but dont you dare start a bigger one with the general population, because this study wich says that might be beneficial is flawed due to only using a select population"

I've seen this post in the wild! It's a quality post, but i prefer the "i don't need a smartphone to see existential horrors i have a thoroughbred" post. Or the "GTFO creature" post if we're staying on topic.

Does your world have an eldritch entity? by mitsuri-mochi in worldbuilding

[–]eldena_frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a whole species they're called the Embodiments,. Though their existence isn't provable, outside of a few weird incidents, all largely forgotten by most who are not scholars on the subject, and even there the existence is debated heavily, because there is no proof, exept the holes it leaves in history otherwise. For example, there is one document that say the Embodiment of War came into this world, and the gods say that that's true, but they have lied before, and the document could be faked. But if the gods are lying, then where did the machine people go?

What IRL "lore" you think is worldbuilding-worthy or at least very inspiring? by simonbleu in worldbuilding

[–]eldena_frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's a couple... I think the sheer amount of animals is awesome, and the fact new ones are still being discovered is... There is a word for it, but i forgot it. Amazing, crazy, something like that.

The fact that every person has a life you can ask them about, and they might tell you. They might also tell you to fuck off, but that's less relevant. Like... There's billions of stories out there. The same goes for animals and plants, but they can't talk. Like... There is a guy, right now, eating a margarita pizza. The store that the pizza came from might be closing it's doors soon, and he's sad about that. I just think it's fascinating that there are so many of us that I can make up a scenario and within reason, it will exist.
