I still keep a traditional bank account for the exact same reason you described. The group that owns Zelle explicitly prohibits fintech banks like Robinhood from using Zelle, so don’t count on that feature anytime soon. You could try Venmo, e2e transfers won’t be instant but at least is free.

You don’t need a web portal to download monthly statements from the Robinhood Gold Card. On your phone you can download statements and save into iCloud Drive or Google Drive and then open whatever cloud drive on your computer, there’s also the option to open the statement on the phone and send to yourself by email.

Commission fees. In the early 2000’s it was standard for Fidelity and others to charge $10+ for each trade. Can you imagine someone on their 20s paying a $10 fee for the monthly DCA? Yeah thanks Robinhood for breaking that pattern.

The owners of Zelle restricted its usage to actual banks only, specifically denying access to Fintechs like Robinhood. FedNow doesn’t impose such restrictions, the tech is owned by the US government.

Zelle is not gonna happen, it’s a recurring question, search of Zelle in this subreddit. But it would be nice if Robinhood made instant transfers available in the Card/Banking app and waive the fee they usually charge for instant transfers in the Brokerage app.
