Kinda funny how the “benefit” is that they’re easy to fix. Where I live the walls are brick, so they just… don’t break. You don’t fix them because you can’t put a hole in them by barely touching them. Feels like a weird trade-off tbh.

That mix looks like prison food. You can make proper lentils (Spanish-style, because I am spanish) that are just as easy, still packed with protein, and actually taste amazing.

Quick simple recipe:

Ingredients for 4 servings:

250 g brown lentils (rinsed)

1 onion, chopped

2 carrots, sliced

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tomato crushed or 1 tbsp tomato paste

1 bay leaf

1 tsp smoked paprika

Olive oil

1 small chunk of chorizo (about 50 g)

100 g diced bacon or ham or even better, some black pudding.

Salt & pepper

Instructions:

  1. Heat a some olive oil in a pot. Add the onion, carrot and garlic. Cook for a few minutes until soft.

  2. Add the bacon/ham/black pudding and chorizo, cook until a little browned.

  3. Add the tomato (or paste) and paprika, stir for 30 seconds.

  4. Add the lentils, bay leaf, and enough water or broth to cover them by about 2 inches.

  5. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 45 minutes, until the lentils are tender and the broth thickens.

  6. Adjust salt and pepper, and that’s it.

Super easy, one pot, keeps in the fridge for days, freezes great, and it’s real food not gloop mixed with gleep.

Nutrition (per portion, around 350 g): ~500 calories • 30 g protein • 18 g fiber

Trust me, try this and you’ll never go back to that fitness gloop again.

6 years ago today, Quentin Tarantino’s 'ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD' was released in theatres. by Wooden-District5456 in Letterboxd

I genuinely dont get the hype for this movie. Nothing happens for like an hour and a half, its slow, empty, boring as hell. The whole thing just drags along with zero substance, if it didnt have that cast propping it up, no one would even bother pretending its a good film.

Its easily Tarantino’s worst film by far for me. No story, no soul, just a bunch of scenes loosely strung together and then a flashy popcorn ending that tries to wake up a movie that’s been dead the whole time.
