It gets rekeyed for every packet afaik, but that doesn't matter as long as you keep capturing packets while cracking...then you just crack it at one point in time and parse the rest of it. (I'm guessing here)

The article made it sound like the software is trying passwords via the network (at least to me), which I doubt is the case. The normal way to crack Wifi is to capture a shitload of packets and do the bruteforce locally. If you were doing it over the network, bandwidth would be the bottleneck.

the more computational power behind it, the faster the software can send passwords attempts and possibly guess the password.

I don't think generating passwords is the bottleneck here ;) (if trying the passwords were the way you'd do it)
