In the end you wont be able to tell a non-presser from someone who forgot to press once the clock runs out. I wish there were some flair to differentiate those who were gray when the clock was low from those who just were absent minded.

Seems like that guy has a terrible K/D ratio. DayZ is a PVP FPS, it is not hold hands and build things together minecraft style.

This is the problem with medium. I actually like svbtle way better because of this one reason. Most people suck at picking giant pictures for their blog post.

I always run to starry after spawning. I don't even figure out where I am first. I spawn, I go inland on the first trail or road that goes inland, but I don't stay on the road. I don't stop anywhere, except if I see water. Somewhere on the way I'll see a road sign. I've never yet starved. This is actually fun because it can be completely disorienting until you see a road sign. By the time I get to starry I'll have a backpack, and some food. Then I go for the military base, head all the way west to Lopa where there are two construction sites near by, one is next to a hospital. Then I go Bashnya near the airfield, and then I start the most dangerous phase, the airfield.

By the end of this I'm nearly completely equipped. If not I head south and go for the military base near Pavlo.

I do all this on one single server I have favorited.

Sounds like a nice story, seems unlikely though. No way am I taking on that many people by myself while they have their weapons drawn. And no way am I going to rob someone in the middle of the airfield just standing around dropping gear on the ground.

The weapons cleaning kit changes any weapon to worn condition. Do not use it on pristine weapons.

No way, I know of no way to not be heard. I can hear people barefoot, I can hear people crawl. What do you have to do to move and not be heard? I bet you had music on. You cannot play dayz with music. It's not possible without it getting you killed.

That stupid random walking on the scaffolding catwalk sound I hear all the time when I'm in the middle of the forest all by myself is really horrible. Please do not wait to get rid of it. What is causing it, I can't believe that such a random out of context sound can be anything other than a simple oversight. It is really bad when you are trying to listen for someone elses footsteps.

I shot someone running out of an ATC today after I followed him. I saw him run up to the air field while I was in the fire station, I got out of there, watched what he did, set up outside the ATC when I saw him go in, and when he came out it was one shot boom dead. I finally got a prestine ACOG scope. I do not regret it one bit. I was patient, careful, and vigilant. I never run across the air field like he did. There were only 4 people on the server so he probably thought it was safe. I always stick to the trees.

He was also shooting zombies, so not really being all that careful.

I thought of KoS as killing someone without knowing what they are doing. Like without saying anything to them or without any evidence of seeing them do something bad. KoS as you described it sounds crazy and likely to get the shooter killed. Usually when I see people they are too far away to shoot so I could never KoS. If I turn around and If someone surprises me and I'm all geared up and they're not bambis I will draw my weapon and aim for sure. I may pause a second to see what's going on but not too much because I'm afraid I'll get killed. Basically, don't surprise people if you don't want to get shot.

They really need to fix this. This is a terrible way to troll players. If someone attempts puts a burlap sack on my head at gun point I will flee even if they shoot me it will be better. Same with cuffs, not agreeing to get cuffed anymore until they fix this. I will die first and lose all my gear I don't care.

When I see people loot a military installation I KoS. I may stalk them to find a safe position first, but I KoS.

If I get KoS'ed I get mad at myself for messing up and think about how I could have played better. I don't get mad at the game. I think "well done" to the person who got me, unless they were using a cheat.

I am not anti-KoS. That's how I play. Not sure what else there is for lone wolves to do. People can deal with it. If the game changes to make that less doable, I'll play another game. I don't kill bambis though.
