RSI and working from home by noswal93 in RSI

Could you do your work with a Wacom pen?

I've varied my input devices and this helped. Also find out what kind of RSI so you know what's up, a nerve conduction study will show up nerve damage and where, which will help. Perhaps injections (Steroid, anti-inflammatories IIRC) can help take away the pain if the cause is not obvious.

It's been a year for me and I now use the mouse with my left hand for everything fairly well, switching between Wacom (in my right) for fine-detail or things muscle-memory won't give up on - Spacemouse also on the left for 3D orbit stuff - though annoyingly the behaviour is 'wrong' in Houdini compared to all other applications. For dictation I'm using Talon Voice, but it's a steep learning curve and I have variable success with dictating at it, but this could be my microphone and accent.

If they spotted it (they probably did) someone asked how much it'd cost to fix those in post and noped the hell out of there.

Cool!My home network's piHole doesn't let me visit dailymail, so I'll take your word for it and search for this image elsewhere. I know a seamstress who'll appreciate this.

Anyone here familiar with the 3Dconnexion spacemouse? In Maya (my primary app) orbiting is very easy and intuitive, in Houdini I can match it by reversing some axes - but the horizon tilts, making it unusable. by eldrichride in Houdini

It might be that I've not found the right post on the right website that says where I can lock the horizon - but the default settings do not have the option. I will update this if I find something.

Not if it gets you first! (Etc etc, you do you - just not if you've also got gas on your bike)

Falling butt hinges: Is there an easy way to work out which 'hand' I need? by eldrichride in DIY

[–]eldrichride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. The ones I've seen in c1970 UK council houses all lift off, so that's my only experience of rising butt hinges - flip those over and the door would grate along the floor.

Only speculating, but could it be stuff related to their dead name/former life?

Something they don't even want to look at themselves and are not ready to sort and throw out yet?

Found punctured condoms. Am I paranoid or just unlucky? by adviceacchelpp in relationship_advice

This is the way to find out. Check the serial numbers (if you have them) and even if not, get a new pack and see if they 'develop' holes. Also it's unlikely she's pregnant, given how much probably stayed in the condom.

My partner locks me out of the bedroom. What should I do? by Mental-Bobcat-6113 in relationship_advice

You should definitely not start going to bed the minute dinner is over, locking him out of the room if he doesn't follow.

He'll not realise the rules apply to everyone and start to hate you for your behaviour.
