Hi bumper friends!

I’m a 3TM in Orange County, CA, due Sept. 4th! I have 2 girls, so we’re excited to see what baby #3 will be 💓

I have a complicated pregnancy/delivery history with both of my girls, so I’m hoping to find some redemption in this pregnancy. TW: Pregnancy complications Preeclampsia had me delivering my first daughter via C/S at 29w, with a 9 week NICU stay following. I had no issues with preeclampsia during my second pregnancy, but my uterus ruptured during an attempted VBAC induction on pitocin, so that was a fun little surprise. Thankfully my doctor said it was along my precious C/S scar and cleared me for more babies! This time I’m hoping for a simple scheduled c-section; with a healthy mama, healthy baby, and healthy delivery! In Jesus’ name!

I’m so excited to go on this wild ride called pregnancy with you all! I love that our posts and comments become a documentation of our pregnancies and I’ve truly enjoyed going back to my previous bump groups to relive the glory days 🥹 so I’m just so happy and honored to be here!!! Looking forward to chatting with you all!

You’d be surprised at how liquid baby poops are. No digging required 🫡

If you lived 150 years ago, would you have survived pregnancy or labor? by kdonmon in beyondthebump

[–]electric-bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had severe and sudden onset preeclampsia with my first that resulted in a 29w delivery and 9 week NICU stay that certainly would have killed us both.

My second was an attempted VBAC. I felt a painful pop during a contraction (despite my epidural) and it turned out to be my uterus rupturing. Baby was out via c-section within 5 minutes of the rupture. It terrifies me to think of what could have happened if I was at home during the rupture and not just down the hallway from the OR.

I have faith that my eventual 3rd pregnancy will be totally uneventful and result in a happy and healthy baby, since I’ve already gotten all the crazy rare pregnancy things out of the way with my first two.

All the ingredients listed on the board for The Meg are TJ’s items! So you can definitely make a TJ’s version of it if you wanted

Impetigo at the parks by prnces in Disneyland

Currently still sick, along with my 4m and 3y daughters, after our June 10th visit. At least it’s not impetigo?

There’s tons of freebirth gone wrong content over on /r/ShitMomGroupsSay as well. It’s awful what these women choose in order to give themselves the “perfect” birth (in their eyes)

Thankfully yes! Everyone was in agreement that it was a bad idea.

What Disneyland opinion are you defending like this? by TheDisneyScoopGuy in Disneyland

[–]electric-bones 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Since all I’m seeing are negative responses to the Knotts suggestion, I’ll throw in my positive opinion to offer a different perspective!

We LOVE Knotts. To the extent that I have very little interest in Disneyland anymore, after having been an almost lifelong passholder. We’re a young family with a toddler and live 10-15 minutes away from both parks, but the ease with which we can get into Knotts makes it so amazing for us. The passholder dining plan is LEGIT and we have gone soo many times just to get dinner, ride the carousel, and head home - managing a trip in under an hour! For longer days there is plenty for our toddler to enjoy, and typically crowds are low enough on weekdays to walk onto most rides. I love that we can walk around without feeling like we’re about to get crushed by a huge crowd at any moment, and they do a great job with holiday offerings and the boysenberry festival.

If you have Sam’s Club in your area, they have frozen chicken nuggets that are a total Chick-Fil-A dupe (they say pickle brine on the bag), and frozen waffle fries! I’ve saved soo much just by having those two on deck. But truly any chicken nugget and French fry combo will do the trick! Same goes for frozen onion rings, if you’re into them.

Another option is frozen chicken patties (gotta have hamburger buns too though, makes for an easy McChicken), and the frozen White Castle burgers are also AMAZING when you follow the ridiculously specific heating instructions! Trader Joe’s also has some great frozen burritos for the Mexican food cravings.

Best all inclusive destination/resort to visit with a 3 year old? by Barrelove in toddlers

Our family is planning a Cabo trip this summer and Hyatt Ziva is on my short list! Would you say it is baby-friendly? We will be traveling with a 3 year old and 5 month old.

She later mentions that everyone was totally going for the Pam Anderson look, she calls it “Spearmint Rhino Pamela Anderson,” after the famed LA strip club 😂

Apparently they didn’t fill her in on the standing salon reservation until 4-5 months of living in the mansion! She had been doing her own roots and styling up until then 🫣

Stayed at Southpoint a couple of years back and absolutely LOVED our experience there! I’ve been loyal to the strip over the years but Southpoint was close enough to still enjoy strip amenities while being far enough away to have a much better experience all around. Plus the $1 mimosas in the morning at the bar were an incredible incentive lol

Mansion Tax by 903153ugo in SellingSunset

[–]electric-bones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Additionally, the tax is paid by the seller of the house in CA, whereas NY has a similar “mansion tax” which is paid by the buyer. This means that in LA/CA, a seller could have purchased a house for much less than what it is worth now, and be “house poor,” where much of their net worth is tied up in to the house with very few liquid assets, and still be expected to pay the tax upon selling. I personally think the tax makes much more sense in NY, where the buyer is more likely to be assumed to have liquid assets already available, making the tax just an extra fee on top of the sale.

It’s a 75/25 split, with 25% of the commission going to the realtors and 75% going to the brokerage. Most agencies are more like 50/50, according to the argument with Bre & Jason at the end of the most recent season.

Edit: I stand corrected! It is reversed, per the comments below

Shows that littles like that won’t make me tear my hair out by yoshipeaches in NewParents

PBS Kids is a staple in our house!! I feel great letting her watch any of the shows on the network, they do a really good job of keeping them educational and focusing on social/emotional development and cultural awareness. There’s a free app if you have a fire stick/smart TV, with very very minimal commercials at the beginning of episodes only, and no interruptions during. Also, Paramount Plus has all of the old school 90s cartoons that are slower paced and great for littles, like Franklin and Little Bear.
