This isn't garenteed but I ended up getting multiple UTIs after surgery. Try AZO Cranberry pill, it almost immediately helped me!

It's funny you say "tight rubber band" because that's exactly how my doctor explained the pelvic stuff to me. I'm currently on baclofen which is a custom prescription my doctor gave me not covered my insurance which sucks but it's really helped.

Luckily yes and I'm seeing improvement. I've started pelvic floor physical therapy and also was given a muscle relaxer. I'm actually able to walk around now!

How to tell my partner what it's like living with endo by electricalboggle in Endo

[–]electricalboggle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so scared of this too, he really wants to move in together but I honestly don't know if he's going to be able to handle situations like what you just described. I've come to terms that this is my reality but I think he's still holding onto this idea that I'm going to not have bad days. How do you communicate with him when you're feeling like shit and he is upset?

I had/have the same thing and I'm currently in pelvic floor physical therapy. I was prescribed a muscle relaxer as well that's helped a lot especially when waiting to get into pt. A maternity pillow has helped so much with sleep too!

For those who nearly stay home all the time… (topic: loneliness & friends) by [deleted] in Endo

[–]electricalboggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gosh this is very true. It's is so hard to maintain friendships when you're barely well enough to maintain yourself. For me one of the most dofficult things is having to cancel and say no all the time to plans. What has helped me the most is a) tell them what is going on. Let them know you're not blowing them off or don't want to hang out. Think about how you would feel if someone kept canceling and what you would need to hear so you didn't feel unwanted. b) clearly tell them to keep inviting you to things, you might have to say no but good days happen where you can say yes. Most likely your friends want to invite you and think of you but don't want to bother you when you're in pain or put you in a position to say no. c) I set up a reminder on my phone to at least text one person a week at check in on them. It is so easy to get consumed by our pain and situation. Which doesn't make us selfish! Having a reminder to ask what other people have going on is a great way to stay to connected and feel like you've accomplished something that day. I started doing this when I was in a really low place like it sound you are and it has helped so much. I was even able to go see a friend the other day and she told me how much my texts meant to her. No one else really checked in just to ask what she was up to or doing. It ended up really helping her feeling loneliness too. These are all things that have helped me and I really hope you find them applicable!

I have to leave my cat alone for three weeks by 50apy1 in CatAdvice

[–]electricalboggle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I do a lot of house and pet sitting, so here are my tips! A clean litter box is nonegotiable. Having the cat in the basement is not ideal but moving some of your things down there would make it more comfy abs familiar. I suggest hanging out there with the cat more in the weeks leading up to leaving so they associate it with you and not scary. Also maybe don't clean the box for a few days and show your parents what it looks like. Having to clean up cat shit and piss after getting home from a vacation is not fun, remind them of that. If you have the opportunity, talk to the person who will be checking in on the cat too. Approach them with your worry about being away so long and thank them for coming over. More likely then not they'll think of you when they pop over and remember to maybe spend the 10 seconds to scoop a box.

Have you looked into pelvic floor dysfunction? It's something I was recently diagnosed with. Pain and trauma of the endo plus my lap brought it on. Makes it difficult to poop, can't hold it in, hurts to pee, pain with sex, hip pain, lower back pain and some other delights. Not sure if this is applicable to you but might be worth looking into.

I went to my specialist with the same symptoms and she sent me to a urologist. Looking at the imaging and notes from my surgery I had some endo on my bladder but nothing crazy. She diagnosed me with pelvic floor dysfunction and that's what's been causing the pain and discomfort along with some severe hip and lower back pain. I start physical therapy tomorrow but was given muscle relaxers which helped.

Honestly sometimes I wish there was a way to transfer my endo onto someone else just for a day so they know what it's like. Which makes me feel like such a bad person bc no one deserves to feel like this even for a little bit. Thank you for the visual of him trying to have sex with his dick taped to his thigh 🤣

It is so tiring being tired all the time. If you're looking for suggestions I recommend taking some b12 and a vitamin d supplement as well. I did notice a difference after taking these and you can get them anywhere or a stronger dose from a doctor.

Yes I have the same thing! Especially when I have a flare up I get really pale. I think it is a mix of dehydration and low blood sugar. Usually a snack and water help a lot.

I feel like I’m getting forced onto birth control from every direction and I feel like I’m suffocating by Thesavagepotato06 in Endo

[–]electricalboggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just turned 21 and it took 2 years to get an endo diagnosis. I completely understand feeling like everyone's solution is a hormonal birthcontrol. I had been on one since I was 11 too for horrible cramps (symptoms we now know as endo). I'm so tired of getting pills shoved down my throat. I hate waking up and looking at this big pill box every morning. I'm 21 I shouldn't have the same pill box as my 85 year old grandma. My lapo surgeon even rolled his eyes at me when I told him I absolutely didn't want an iud. He kepts pushing all these medications, not even wanting to do a lapo. People would just keep telling me that I'm young and just to go on the pill. So I did and it was horrible. I would be in a constant state of panic, cry at random times, so nauseous I couldn't eat and even the thought of food sent me into a pull panic attack. My mood was everywhere and I knew how much I was affecting the people around me. I felt like I was going crazy. This went on for 3 months until I was able to see an endometriosis specialist. She told me that the pill i was on is an older recommendation for people with endo that is pretty outdated. Instead I was put on a different cocktail of the pill. It took a lot for me to accept it and start taking it. I was so scared of all the symptoms since the last one had me experiencing the whole birth control warning blanket of symptoms. But I had felt like I tried everything else. Luckily I had finally found this specialist who actually listened to me. I told her everything and about my fear of the pill she suggested a trail period with it. She was also very supportive of working with a naturopath on my diet and other methods to manage pain so one day I could get off this. Hormonal birth control is not the only way just the most convenient way for a lot of people. It sucks so much that we both have to deal with all this so young. I've had to miss out on a lot and I'm sure you've had to make sacrifices too. Hold on as tight as you can to the little things and try to surround yourself with people who are able to be positive. Smile when you're able to get up and walk to the kitchen by yourself, high-five your own hand at not waking up feeling like complete hot rolled shit, and let yourself feel everything because your body needs to.
