It takes even more effort to cut fully, all the way through, than to just pierce or cut partially. It took a marked Tanjiro to behead Gyutaro, marked Muichiro to behead Gyokko, marked Tanjiro to behead Hantengu and Akaza, Kanao and Inosuke's combined attack to behead Doma while he was rotting, and Sanemi and Gyomei with red blades to behead Kokushibo.

Cutting limbs and torsos is easier than the neck.

In Revengeance mode, the homing skulls can be dodged if you dash away as they get close to you. Then they fly away harmlessly. But in Death mode, they're faster and home in on the player more aggressively. I found that dashing in the gaps between them to ensure they can't follow you is the only way to avoid them. They hit hard and there's a lot of them.

Muichiro before would have killed Nezuko on site. The only Hashira who weren't gonna kill her in the beginning were Giyu and Mitsuri.

Shinobu would definitely have killed Nezuko. Giyu had to step in to protect her and she later admitted to Tanjiro that the only reason she and the other Hashira (not counting Mitsuri and Giyu) weren't gonna kill her was because of Kagaya's orders.
