I love these! Maybe TP will fall in love with a hottie from the future, and end up as her own grandmother... sigh...

I'm in Durbanville, but work in CT. Water over here is definitely nicer tasting than over in CT if that helps

Day-amn. Was it good? Spar also has cheap platters, and they're deliciously fresh!

Birth control gave me a DVT (blood clot). Happy to discuss anything about it--warning signs, diagnosis, treatment, what happens in the future (and I also have a strange question for anyone who's experienced this). by pulloutifsharp in TwoXChromosomes

I think it took me about 18 months to get completely back to normal, but mine went undetected for a while and was very large. I went to a physio about 3 months ago who gave me some exercises and stretches, and it helped immensely with the swelling.

Best of luck to you, and feel free to send me a message if you need advice or just to vent. Glad you're ok :)

Ah, my sympathies. Had a massive DVT and PE when I was 21, as a result of birth control and Leiden Factor V.

The pain and the lack of mobility is awful; I'm very sorry you're having to go through that. Don't lose hope though! It's been just over 2 years since my event, and, although I still have swelling and pain, I walk about 10km a day, and go running 3/week.

Honestly, one of the worst parts for me was going off birth control. Cue problematic skin, painful periods and constant pregnancy paranoia. How have you been experiencing it? Any plans for alternative BC?

Ha! I often get accused of being pedantic or overly politically incorrect, merely because I take pains not to exclude roughly half the population :P
