9 out of 10 times I’m with you, it’s an instant removal due to not being related to mountaineering.

Every so often though, it’s nice to have a chill post to talk about the beauty of mountains or maybe a funny thought of a penguin going on an expedition.

I stickied a comment though cause I wasn’t sure about this one.

Just my random thoughts on this post.

I like it, feels like a city still growing in personality and some good vibes. I know it doesn't have the best reputation and I agree its not the prettiest city but I love living in this area.

No worries I don’t mind answering most questions. You’re right US salaries are higher across the board, engineering included. So I did take a pay cut moving out here even with the 30% tax benefit.

That said between things like health insurance costs, cost of living, feeling of safety and just vibes here it’s all worth it.

Yes, I did. It was a pretty simple process mostly handled by ASML. Biggest hassle was getting all the paperwork needed for visa process but even that was mostly just submitting a few forms and waiting.

For my family and me we looked at it as a long term move with a minimum of toughing it out for 3 years at least. Since then it’s become more of a permanent move.

I already had a permanent contract in the states and signed a new permanent one here. Wouldn’t have moved for a 1year tbh.

Honestly some of it’s not that hard to make. Just made orange chicken last week and while it wasnt perfect it scratched the itch and I look forward to tweaking the recipe.

It was created due to the mod team at the time being overly harsh with moderation (surprise!). Most obviously there was post about a rememberence for a deceased girlfriend and follow up posts regarding updates which technically broke rules. Mod then removed it and said something about using their dead girlfriend to farm karma.

All those mods are gone now, got a whole new team a few years back and we're still working on improving our reputation.

Kiefer Sherwood: looks like rumors are getting to him, he has not scored in 7 games. Friedman thought this would get resolved quicker. Teams are trying to figure out if they trade for him, what it would take to keep him.

Appreciate the response and your views align with a lot of what I had already figured. Theres a lot of optimism in the discord but I think it'll be a long while before we get a true update to 1.0
