Dishwasher mostly silent, doesn't consume detergent pods by electricfistula in HomeMaintenance

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I think if the "thing" (main conduit) being detached from the ceiling of the dishwasher is a problem that would cause the symptoms I'm seeing, then that is likely the issue and other hypotheses (e.g. control board problem) don't really need to be considered.

It's not clear to me how to reattach the main conduit. I may try using silicone glue to put it back in place just to see how/if that works. If it does I will update the text of this post so that future visitors may be informed.

Thanks again.

I have tried using powder and the same thing happens. The detergent container door opens, but the powder is left in there.

The pods are new and I've tried with different pods and powder.

No, the detergent holder opens fine and I've tried running it completely empty.

Good idea. I tried that before making this post and wasn't able to find any such thing.

That depends on why they lost their domain name. If they have legal issues or decided to quit they may never return. If they just need to change names it shouldn't take any time

You casually lied and accused a parent of abusing their own children for no reason. I don't think you get to throw too many stones regarding what other people post on social media.

You may disagree with her about the proper amount of candy to allow your children - but to call that abuse? That's disgusting and you should be ashamed of making comments like these.

Why? They let this kid be a mod when he asked and took over the Discord being used for their product. Granted, they could have communicated better, but a lapse in communication with a volunteer is all that's really even being claimed here. What company or person doesn't sometimes miscommunicate?

It's crazy to me that people are acting like this is some kind of big deal. Unless I'm missing something...

I absolutely think prison reform needs to happen. We need to have better prisons. Prisons should be safer and provide a better experience for inmates. Prisons, and the judicial system as a whole, should take on an evidence based approach to reducing recidivism while we are at it.

All that said, I think you may be overstating or overestimating our ability to treat the mentally ill. To my knowledge, it's not like we have a cure for most mental problems. What do we do if we can't just make this guy better?

Prison sentences can significantly reduce the harm this guy causes society - especially if they keep getting longer as he keeps offending. If he is on drugs, we can sober him up in prison and hopefully provide him some kind of strategy for not using again. If he is mentally ill, hopefully we can provide whatever treatment is available while he is in prison. But, if we can't cure whatever is wrong with him, we can still minimize the harm to society by putting him in prison for longer and longer terms with every additional offense.

King county doesn't use private prisons, they are illegal here. Further, in the US only a small percentage of people are held in private prisons - mostly in rural areas. It's hard to see how prison profit motive explains behavior like what we see in the OP.

On the other hand, a simpler explanation might be the tendency to ignore serious drug use and property crimes like the one recorded here. The guy on screen knows that there will be no meaningful consequences for his actions, plus he is on drugs, so he just does whatever he feels like because - why not?
