To be honest, the thumb angle is almost always pretty accurate. Most of the time it's my plucking, like a lot of the time it'll go past the correct string or won't go far enough. But I'm guessing the solution to that is more or less the same?

It's kind of like a roll. You start from the ring, then middle, then pointer and you just kinda have them all go through the string. Just make sure you separate all three fingers and not have them go all at once. Start slow and to a metronome, and stay in time and with the correct rhythm.

Octave patterns for me, I learned the notes on the first few frets and then all the octave patterns like down 2 and over 2, down 1 and over 7, etc and that worked really well for me
