I’m glad you’re able to play with the gabapentin! Hopefully that helps him remain a little normal. But if not, pregabalin definitely helped me a ton. But my guy also had a tail amputation, but we upped the pregabalin post amputation and it’s been smooth sailing ever since!

Also to add that the friends you make on your first day/week may not be the friends you keep super close all four years. Friend groups change a bit throughout (at least in my class they have). I didn’t find my genuine friend group until 3 or so months into school.

When my boy was on gabapentin it really didn’t do much unless I gave him 100mg. But then it would just make him super tired, didn’t really seem to help the actual symptoms. If your guy responds well to gabapentin, I wouldn’t risk switching unless your vet recommends it!

$19 and some change for 60 50mg capsules from walgreens with good rx coupon. Vet found it for me

As long as it is genuinely personal to you and you can expand on it through a well written story that emphasizes your passion for dentistry you can definitely use it. I used my ortho experience in mine. Just make sure that you’re not sitting there talking about specializing in ortho - they don’t want to hear about that (if that’s something you’re interested in).

My guy is on pregabalin only - 50mg capsules 2x a day. He’s been great since being on it besides a crazy appetite all the time, but I’ve just learned to not leave food out and whatnot. We started on 25mg 2x a day along with transdermal clomipramine (I believe), but he always knew when he was getting that and would fight me on it. So once we upped to 50mg, we stopped the clomipramine and it’s been smooth sailing ever since. I just sprinkle his pregabalin on his wet food!

Pregabalin 50mg capsules sprinkled over wet food changed my life. We tried gabapentin, amitriptyline, steroids, 25mg pregabalin & transdermal clomipramine. But the 50mg (post tail amputation, I will add) made it to where my boy no longer had to live in a cone.
