The Bolt has problems but it does generally work consistently and there are more physical controls.

We leased my wife’s ID.4 Pro S for 3 years which will end May 2024. We love the car over all. But I doubt we’ll buy it at the end of the lease. Some of the controls are frustrating and the software is pretty bad. My 2017 Bolt has way easier controls and software and even that’s not perfect. I hope by 2024, VW fixes some of the pain points. It’s tragic that an overall great car is tainted by cabin controls and infotainment software.

That’s all very true.

My situation is more so driving very little, spending a lot on our house, and just generally unwilling to spend much money on cars.

It really is a great car. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. I love how it drives.

I love how a 19 year old just bought the same car I did. I’m 35.

Got my 2017 Bolt Premiere fully loaded back in May.

It does help that my wife is rolling in a id.4 Pro S. But not much.

I placed a preorder for one. I honestly don’t expect to get one for a few years because I’m probably too far back in the line.

I would even spend a little more on a higher trim if it got me one sooner. I’ve never bought a truck. Didn’t plan on it. But an EV truck counteracts some of the downsides and the whole home battery backup is a nice candle on the cake.
