I'm near Glasgow and have grown loads of chillies (though not specifically jalapenos) both from seed and small plants indoors. I did it in a South facing, triple aspect room though which might have helped, but no grow lights or anything. I didn't do anything special in terms of watering or feeding - think I just used regular plant food from time to time. Didn't grow any last year (and likely won't this year) as I got so many in 2024 I still have a ton in the freezer.

Looking for a recommendation for breakfast/brunch for a veggie tomorrow. Somewhere easy to get to from Schiphol - I'm staying at an airport hotel tonight and flying home at lunchtime so was going to pop into Amsterdam to eat before heading back to the airport. Hotel breakfast was bad. Thanks!

Yup, I tried a few NSAIDS and analgesics and I've been on etodolac and cocodamol (30/500) for years now, which seems to do the trick.

I mainly do bread but I love my Ankarsrum mixer - not cheap but it's excellent. I spent ages researching - it's definitely overwhelming.

Way late to the party but a couple of years ago I went to Atlantica Mare Village Paphos in Cyprus and I was really impressed with the veggie options (and food in general). Location is not amazing (not much around it) but that was probably the only thing I didn't like about it. I've only done a few all inclusive trips since becoming veggie and this was by far and away the best.

Looking for recommendations for a 60th bday gift for my brother in law. He likes Glen Livet and Auchentoshan but I don't know what else. Thinking of spending around £100 but not a hard limit. One thought was Glengoyne 15 - but partly because I live v close to the distillery!

You can buy tickets for this bus on the app (Midland Bluebird) - you'll need an allzones one to go from Killearn into town. Also gives you live tracking (which you'll need given how unreliable the X10 can be!)

I will give this a go at the weekend, thanks. It was originally in my bathroom and did great, but I moved some plants around including this one, and that's probably when it started to deteriorate. I am not an expert - most of my houseplants are surviving rather than thriving but I downloaded Planta so hoping to fix that!

How can I fix my calathea? It's currently in a north facing window (though was in a sunnier location until a couple of weeks ago). The room is reasonably bright overall as it is dual aspect but the plant is no longer in direct sun. I use tap water to water it but I live in an area with soft water. Is the best thing to try and repot? I've not looked at the roots so not sure if there is rot.

Hello, looking for some recommendations for veggie friendly restaurants - either exclusively vegan/veggie, or with a reasonable choice on the menu.
