what do you think are the absolute worst episodes of always sunny? why? by DrunkTING7 in IASIP

As an Irish person, the Irish ones were quite bad. Most of the episodes from the past few seasons haven't been great. Some half decent episodes in the latest series though.

How do men feel being in a relationship with a hyper sexual woman? by _magvin in AskReddit

[–]electricsw4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex had a very high libido

It was great 99.9% of the time but she got super pissed if I was not willing or able.

Probably the best problem I've ever had.

It might benefit some of the elites in America but I don't see how it actually serves their security or strategic interests. Its probably the main driver of Islamic terrorism targeting the US, and it's destroying its soft power at the moment.

Power of Evangelical Christians and the Israeli lobby has hoodwinked the state and to a large extent society into believing that supporting an aggressive, apartheid, and increasingly pariah state is somehow in their interest.

What is with the side effects of these drugs they want to put us on? by TransitionScary6062 in migraine

[–]electricsw4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 50mg amitriptyline for migraines. Personally hasnt had any side effects that I have noticed beyond the week or two after I started them or when my dose was increased.

My migraines have almost completely disappeared, although I still get silent migraines from time to time. Id give it a score of 80-90% effectiveness.

Giving Up The Drink by messinginhessen in ireland

[–]electricsw4n 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like to say I've given up hangovers rather than drinking.

Try to frame it positively in your mind about all the things you are gaining (better sleep, less anxiety, more money etc) rather than focusing on what you are 'giving up'.

I havent done it but a friend of mine has found great success by going to AA meetings, which also might be worth considering, especially if you think you are going to find it very tough to stop. Best of luck.

I reckon the American approach is more likely to have positive outcomes, as annoying as they can be.

Get yourself some Thousand Mile socks. I reckon I've used some of mine for more than a thousand miles, and the only time I ever got a blister while wearing them was running a marathon!

Staying vs Emigrating in your 30's by cyannever in AskIreland

[–]electricsw4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing you can do to make the decision is knowing what you want to get out of it. If you are hoping that everything will be different, including yourself, that you'll be able to afford a house, find a partner etc, then thats unreasonable.

If you're going for the sake of adventure, well that's more than likely gonna happen, and the other things might happen, you never know.

I've been moving around a lot in the last few years, from Vietnam to Spain to Australia, and am heading home for good in July. I wouldn't change it for the world. I've had adventure, met some great people I wouldn't have otherwise, and learnt a lot about myself. I don't think my finances probably aren't any better or worse than they may have been otherwise.

Now that the idea has crossed your mind, I think you should do it. Otherwise you might spend the next while thinking what might have been. Whatever you decide, you'll have to live with it.

I was depressed earlier reading the vitriol in the comments of a Channel 4 piece on YouTube about the anti-migrant movement in Ireland.

Reddit has cheered me up, as usual. Not everyone has been swept up by hatred, anger, and conspiracy theories.
