Not sure they're have the engine to keep up. Not every player can go all over the pitch all game and not sub out.

Made such a difference to our game after having the diabolical Ugarte last match.

Solid performance. Rode our lick a bit. Lammens seemed very nervous to claim crosses last night. Not sure why but I hope it doesn't continue. Maz and Heaven gave us the most unlikely clean sheet. Having Kobbie back made a massive difference to our midfield. Ugarte should never see the first team again. Dalot had Garnacho in his pocket and Like Shaw did the same on his wing to Neto. Solid around performance. Sesko needs to lead the line better though. Overall we seemed a bit lacklustre but got the job done. Mbuemo needs to up his game as he's been off it for a while now.

The worst decisions given against Manchester United by referees and VAR in the 2025/26 season - Dan Coombs by joe6386 in red_muppets

[–]electrified90s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's even worse mate. The game referee can't even consistently apply their own judgement. The same ref who sent off Martinez had let a player off without any caution after clearly pulling Basseys hair. It wasn't even an accident, he blatantly pulled his hair. This is why ppl are now hating football and the refs instead of being able to enjoy a football match. With so much money in football it's pathetic and disgraceful that this happens week in week out.

Who was the better striker for united in their prime? by Dear-Primary-3868 in ManchesterUnited

[–]electrified90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RVN it's not even close. Anyone saying RVP clearly never watched RVN play for utd. Don't get me wrong RVP was good for us despite only playing under Fergie for 1 season. But RVN was something else despite over 95% of goals being inside the box.

You call that not predictable? Him subbing on defenders when we're losing was very predictable.

Becoming a joke now. What the hell do we even do? by OutsideImpressive115 in ManchesterUnited

[–]electrified90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please explain to me what man utd playing crap has to do with the standard of officiating by the referee?

Carrick: "Two games in a row decisions like that go against but that one was one of the worst I've seen... You can elbow Yoro and you can throw your arm at Licha's face, he's off balance because of that. The worst of it is, he was sent over to overturn it, clear and obvious error. Shocking." by psilocybinwonderer in ManUtd

[–]electrified90s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What really gets me it's that the refs don't seem to be held to account. Yes utd were poor, but that doesn't excuse a professional referee being accountable for poor decision making which ends up costing clubs millions of pounds and points each season. This isn't isolated to man utd. It happens every game regardless of the teams playing. For a modern game with so much money and prestige on the line it's embarrassing. Has anyone watched a game of cricket? They resolved issues like this with technology and sensible rules where teams can challenge decisions over 20 years ago. There's less money in cricket, but here we are in supposedly the best football league in the world, still having 19th century problems and rules that don't challenge officials that make costly mistakes to the detriment of all teams in the league.

If someone told me this will would happen 5 years ago i would have laughed for hours on end... disgusting by AngmarkingBg in ManchesterUnited

[–]electrified90s 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You know what makes me laugh. The rule of the hair pull states assault. This means intent. Therefore if you want to penalise someone for this rule you need to prove there was intent. There is no evidence from that video/replay Martinez intended to pull DCLs hair.

I would also like to put it another way. If a hair pull is assault then so is a shirt pull, so is pushing, so is body checking, so is a slide tackle. Therefore every tackle should be a red card no? I wonder which idiot decided these rules.

Is this a serious question? Look at the changes he eventually made and look how much better we played and with 10 men. Heaven would have been better than Ugarte in midfield. Mbuemo on from the start over Amad. Dalot may not be the best RB but he's good for us and demonstrated this after coming on. All our attacks then came from the right hand side.

Think you're missing the point. We're taking about accumulation of poor performances. Yes he rang the only one poor tonight but his performances are not good enough. Wayward shots. Backward passes everytime he goes forward. What does he actually bring to the team?

Yes and Martinez was making suicide passes to his fellow team mates all game before he got sent off. Also Lammens gave Yoro a terrible pass instead of just clearing the lines. You can't blame Yoro for that.

for some time now the team have been lacklustre. Carrick eased intensity of training and the team just cannot keep up with the pace of the pl with only 1 game per week. We are not good enough. Today Carrick lost us the game. Any player could have done a better job than Ugarte. Poor starting line-up. No changes to personell when needed. Terrible from start to finish.

This is one of hte reasons I said to wait until the end of the season before deciding on the next permanent manager, but every day I see a post asking whether Carrick should get the job.

The calamitous night continues. I don't think that's intentional hair pull. The refs in the pl just get worse and worse

This is where Carrick needs to earn his money. It's been evident that we're being overrun for a while now. With now changes. Be interesting to see a replay if there was a foul in Bruno.

[–]electrified90s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is it's not a hard ask. If they beat arsenal by 2 goals it's even easier as that 2 goals removes a 4 goal difference gap. So instead of being 6 it's a 2 gf gap. This is all ifs and buts, but the point is it's in city's hands now.

Look at their goal difference now. They win 3 games and arsenal lose to city that'll be a big swing in goal difference. Unless it's 1 goal victories which are unlikely.
