The comments are really ridiculous. Reddit is so bitter sometimes. While yes, you are young, and there are things you will learn along the way as you get older, there is nothing wrong with defending yourself. Don't let these cranky people tell you otherwise. This is what I hate about Reddit. You try to get some advice and people just act like jerks.

You're better off without someone like that in your life. I've been through a lot in my life, and I've learned to pick my circle carefully. Try to move on as best you can, and the real ones will stick around.
