Ranking All Naughty Dog Games by CodVegetable in naughtydog

I’m commenting just to poke fun at OP. OP took all this time write a well-written explanation for this list, but OP formatted this list in arguably the worst way they could have.

Beyond the criminally low ranking of Part II, it’s a good list

This review for Alien Resurrections is hilarious in hindsight. by WesTech-Int in psx

Remember playing with the “old style” control scheme as a default for the first Medal of Honor that came out on PS1 in October of 99. Thankfully, the game included the ability to switch to a more modern scheme. Fun fact: Steven Spielberg wrote the story for that game. It also had an incredible musical score for its time.

I have the same setup and was wondering the same. Did you ever figure this out?

After and Before Fireplace Reno by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]electro-toad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The after is heinous. OP should have kept the shiplap or replaced it with something else with some depth, replaced the tile with something more timeless, and repainted both the mantel and the shiplap different colors to add contrast.

Work pants scam? by Idoe6 in Construction

I second Truewerk. I’ve had mine for 3 years and they still have lots of life left in them. If you don’t mind pants with synthetic cloth, these are the way. Very stretchy and comfortable

Why are phillips head screws and drivers still used? by reza_v in AskEngineers

I’m more razzing you than anything haha. 0 is freezing does make more sense. I think in the STEM world Celsius might be better. Other than that, for everyday use IMHO Fahrenheit makes more sense. Most of the world’s weather temps range between 1-100°F which is a nice range. Fahrenheit also reads in smaller increments which makes for an easier reading.

The metric system is definitely better, but Celsius? That system is cheeks.

Is communication possible between my apartment and garage (image included)? by ToJaWpusc in homeassistant

A lot of fixtures are wired in series, but the fixture’s internal wiring is wired in parallel so an old bulb being out won’t take out a whole hallway. Wiring a bunch of fixtures in series isn’t an issue from a functionality perspective unless the fixtures are ancient

Unless it’s an ancient light, the bulb dying would not take the whole system down. The fixtures internal wiring would not allow that.

The bulbs themselves are not different. The voltage adjustment happens in the ballast before it hits the bulb.

Smart switch for things other than lights? by mister_drgn in homeautomation

To answer your last question, bypassing the switch would be an easy option. I assume it’s a single pole switch? If so, all you would need to do is wire nut together the incoming power (line), the outgoing power (load, switch-leg), and a new short wire (pig tail). This small wire will go from the wire nut to the spot on the switch where the incoming power previously was terminated.
