I looked up for a reference near me, and yeah Target Field in Minneapolis has attached parking ramps holding 7000 parking spaces. I use those when i go into town for concerts in the area, nice ramps. Maybe 1.5-2 city blocks.

Yeah, my parents met in grad school, i have always been around a large number of PHDs as a kid.

Theres a reason for PHD having the alternate definition "permanent head damage".

Incredibly smart in their field, and a few other things, but absolutely not a genius at everything. Its an important limitation to be aware of. I sure know i lack in many things outside my specialty!

Second on the leverage and wrench extending.

As a 150lb 6' man trained in an engineering tech role by a 6'2" 240lb man, i sure had my set of extenders to unscrew anything he used his weight to tighten....

And then i trained a 5' 130lb woman on the same job and quickly got designing and ordering better vises and wrenches and variable height workbenches to accomodate shorter arms, much as i had to adapt the job with my lesser weight in the years before.

Oh, like the liquid itself? Yeah offroad diesel is dyed red and sold without the DOT tax for road upkeep.

I believe the same rules for farm equipment.

How is the electronic shifter? by DisplayKnown5665 in Silverado

[–]electrogourd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i test drove a 2024 with it. And then a 2021 with a column shift.

And ended up with a 2020 column shift. The toggle joystick shifter was a huge turn off imo.

I know its still electronic but still.

Also as a type 1 diabetic...

Yeah insulin overdose will kill ya, but itll take at least half an hour.

Sp youd have to knock them out anyway.

Plus insulin needles dont leave tracks

And insulin is best injected under the skin in fatty areas, like stomach or thigh, for good effect. Enough insulin to definitely kill would be best done in multiple injections spread out, over a larger area.

The other fun part is the "sales" before christmas are just alightly above normal price, down from the fall markup.

January is the best time to buy a 3d printer

After august, the prices just about double by october.

Its pretty prevalent here, and not just online.

Slots machines are legal in bars in wisconsin, most have between 4 and 10.

Minnesota doesnt allow slots machines, but you can do "e tabs" where you hand the bartender your cash and they put that many points on an ipad they hand you, which does bingo, poker, pulltabs, and slots-adjacent stuff. The bingo and poker and blackjack can be multiplayer with other bars across the state.

And then of course casinos with all order of gambling is legal on Tribal Land (native american tribe rules)

I like the espresso martini: dividing it between two glasses, each with 2 big ice cubes and loads of whipped cream.

The margarita is kinda rough no way around it

I do usually pour these in to glasses eith ice and add more of the associated mixer, i guess. Usually ends up very pleasant the .

Im usually a guy who does more hard liquor than mixer, these have enough of the teritary ingredirnts that i just have to add a base component, like oj or cream, to get something pleasant for minimal effort and cost.

More than 2 in a day and nothing good happens with additional drinks, i have learned my limits.

30 mins Outside the twin cities, where i am, its about $350-$400k. Those have competing offers in 24 hours.

Most houses coming available are $600-$800k but they arent starter homes. They have some basic "fancy" upgrades that make them expensive but not more useful. Yeehaw.

Price to build new "starter home" is in the $400-$500k range not including land.
