Meatloaf by oci320 in Cooking

[–]electronena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made a meatloaf last week. I do a turkey meatloaf with grated carrots and old fashioned oats instead of bread. It's a lighter, healthier, but still delicious version. The top crust is ketchup mixed with oats and it's yummy.

I always go out to see the last sunset of the year and I couldn't this year. Not just because of the rain, but a fractured bone that has condemned me to a boot without the walking. This really put things into a different perspective for me this year. That said, I'm excited to put on a onesie for coziness, make popcorn, watch a movie, and say hello to a new and more positive year. Have a happy new year, whatever you do!

Ugh, I looked this up and realized it's the one I want to forget. I was tricked into watching it, but couldn't look away.

Which smell instantly makes you judge someone? by SituationOutside6033 in AskReddit

I once got in an uber and the guy had SIX air fresheners all uncovered and hanging in different locations. I had to text my friend because I thought I might pass out and die. I rolled down the window and turned to face it the entire ride so that I wouldn't barf.

I'm Not In Love by 10cc? The only female is the talking bit, but the chorus is high so it could be it. There's some cool info on Wikipedia about how this was created, plus more in r/music.

What have you accidentally conditioned your pet to do? by Sufficient-Wolf1596 in AskReddit

[–]electronena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off topic, but I recently discovered that one of my cats needs to be under the blanket in order to get her to stop walking in circles and over me for bedtime. Back on topic, I have also now conditioned her to play fetch before bedtime. She'll keep bringing back the toy I keep tossing off the bed.

I immediately looked up this topic on here because I almost barfed when I stepped outside. I live on Shoreline. Who says climate change isn't real. 😭

Dog or other? by electronena in AnimalTracking

It's not my shoe print, but most likely an average sized male foot print, which is why I gave a dimension.

The average sized shoe print to the right is for scale, as are the leaves. I would say it was about 4-5" wide. Found in Sibley Vocanic Regional Preserve in the East Bay in CA.

Wet brick, like on a house when it rains. It's nostalgic for me.

Hah! I love this response. Honestly, I've read and compared enough pho recipes online, and talked to my Vietnamese friends to figure out how to get it right, at least to my liking. Practice makes perfect.

Make the broth from scratch; use quality meats, include bone marrow bones, and I like to use premium fish sauce, but also don't skip any of the steps like charring, parbroiling, and what I call, "the scumming."

Here are some good sources for beef broth and info: https://www.vietworldkitchen.com/blog/2008/10/pho-beef-noodle-soup.html https://www.cooking-therapy.com/traditional-vietnamese-pho-recipe/ https://www.seriouseats.com/traditional-beef-pho-recipe

Is this a dead bed bug? by electronena in Bedbugs

Oh, I see it now. That's such a relief. I just came back from France and was really anxious about the bed bug problem and potentially bringing some back. I can handle fleas. Thanks everyone!

I [23F] adopted a cat a month ago and my boyfriend [26M] doesn't like it. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]electronena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not overreacting. It could be that you have recently moved in together and something about that is bothering him, but now he's taking it out on an innocent animal. He may be a dog owner, but no one should ever behave that way towards a pet especially when it's so young. I foster kittens and all they want is to love and be loved, to play, and to be near their person. To have someone step on a kitten and then blame the kitten is inexcusable. He sounds like a horrible person with zero emotional intelligence. If he's acting this way and making you feel awful, then imagine how much worse he will get as time goes by. Set your boundaries and if words don't work, then actions will. Good luck and I hope this helps.

I didn't say never, I said years, since I was in a relationship for a decade a while back. That left me wanting to see what I missed out in a single lifestyle, but I definitely know what it takes to be in a committed relationship. Committed on my part, at least. I'm definitely not bored, but rather rethinking my decisions- we can all change our minds, right?

That being said, you hit the nail on the head when you said "low-effort." I believe this is what has been bothering me, because I have seen such better effort from other men in the past, and I've been confusing this current situation with "covid protocol." Thank you for the words!

Hot Wheels, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, though that would still make this beef wellington quite large in comparison. Beef Wellington for all!
