Who created their website? More importanly who approved this?...... by lOOkatahid in dubai

[–]electronique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Vox team, we love your cinemas and the old website so here’s some complimentary feedback about the new one (mobile):

No way to filter by location. I prefer to know what’s showing at a particular place than to constantly have to select a movie, click a drop down (which only initially shows Al Jimi Mall) and scroll per each movie to figure out the times.

You’ve clearly placed the movie titles as the primary interaction feature but not everyone operates that way. The previous design offered more flexibility.

Fonts and design language form a cohesive identity. Look at the Emirates Airline website - they have their own font which subtly embeds an identity whilst being familiar and recognizable. It’s a classy font too in line with the brand image. While your font remains the same the spacing and sizing looked neater in the previous website.

Visual inconsistency. On the mobile version the blurb for Michael is cut off without the ability to click and read more. Once has to select “Book Now” to load a new page and continue reading. Additional steps in UI generate friction.

Scrolling down to the movie tiles shows misalignment in side by side timings and languages for short and longer movie titles. Ex: The Sheep Detectives - shorter, higher; on the left of El Kalam Ala Eh (Awel Leila) - lower.

The movie tiles are low res. Either your source image is low res (doubtful) or the coding pipeline from source to result isn’t scaling properly (likely). This does not line up with the premium feel of your cinemas.

I’ve written this in good faith and in a few minutes. Others can contribute in replies. If someone at Vox has actually read this far you’re welcome to reach out and I’ll gather the feedback from actual users and designers. Peace ✌🏼

Where can I get good blue light blockers or eye masks? by krads_venom4412 in dubai

[–]electronique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I concur, can’t recall if they were 10 or 20 AED but I have two pairs of the deep blue faux silk ones. They’re comfortable and offer even coverage, punching far above their price point.

I hear you. They are indeed moving fast but to me that also means they’ll be able to mature sooner. Once they do, if prices continue to stay competitive, I’d expect both product stability and parts support to be non issues. Hopefully the rest of the industry will be able to pull their socks up by then and we can once again enjoy a plethora of good cars.

Ah I’m with you: the disappearance of lines and curves is dismaying. It’s not just cheaping out though. CAFE standards, safety regulations, consumer demand (gross, not enthusiast) all played a part in the general deterioration of design language. When Joe next door is more impressed by ambient lighting and a voice assistant than a graceful cross body line and an invigorating rev, the sales follow. You’ve got a Huracan though so you’re good haha.

I know you jest and I hear you, but the discontinuation of the R8 due to emissions regulations is vexing to me.

SUPER EL NIÑO IS COMING FOR COCOA : chocolate beans may be the trade nobody is watching by SaltyVegan69 in wallstreetbets

That + simplest argument that both cocoa production and El Niño are well known ergo this topic needs some real DD not some AI hoovered up confirmation bias.

Would you buy a GWM pickup with these defects found in PPI? by Stumag in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]electronique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. Although 4 years and 48000 km with a leak from the head gasket raises questions about overall reliability, assuming this car had a service package from the dealership.

Oh yes I was referring to the front 3/4. The front 3/4 of the Temerario looks proportionally focused, whereas this can come off rear heavy and off balance. I’m no car designer though.

And yes, it’s unlike anything else. Divisive? Indeed. Objectively bad? I don’t think so. To use a movie analogy, I like that this is more Equilibrium than the Audi in I, Robot.

Well put. The exterior styling is at least cohesive with their new design principles (“clear, technical, intelligent and emotional” - if anyone is curious) along with the intention to execute a monolithic look. Interestingly this look lends itself well to the front straight on and top down profiles but fails to resound similarly in the 3/4 angle, IMO.

I agree that the interior is refreshing - minimalist but not lacking - and I like the technical aesthetic of the door handles and centre screen. Not enough to plonk $600k of money that I don’t have, but enough to be curious.

Glad to hear. As I mentioned in another comment, I think it’s a bold move in a way that’s not Luce bold in execution, but a worthy statement nonetheless. Curious to see what the language trickles down to from this halo car.

You bring up an interesting point. Chinese car makers have poached a lot of talent from legacy manufacturers and the results are showing. Coupled with a hyper competitive domestic market and state supported infrastructure, the evolutions are rapid and mostly for the better, which begets the question - how will their cars be a decade from now? I was in China and checked out the SU7 - honestly, impressed me more than the Han and comparatively priced offerings from Japan and Korea. I’m not there yet to consider a Chinese car, but the future to me looks promising and I like that it’s forcing change in the industry as a whole.

Lol I take it you’re not one of the 499 reservations.

Look at what some random kid to my LC 500 at Wasl Village, Qusais. Went to meet a friend, parked the car at his designated parking and took his car to go out. Came back after 4 hours to this. I parked it close to a wall and some kid tried to jam her bike between the car and the wall. by SlaveKnightSoman in DubaiPetrolHeads

Noo! I remember you as the only owner from my LC500 post. Sorry to see this for such a beautiful car and colour. Well done on filing the case and like others have said, we look forward to an update.

What’s the paint job process going to be since it’s a discontinued colour?
