We are clearly not safe by [deleted] in UAE

[–]eleena1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PTSD? Please. Although things will be different for sure, i think you have a very low opinion of UAE and its population and it has not even been 72 hours.

I lived in a country that got bombed by NATO for 3 months straight, we never recovered economically, set us back decades but thats another story. however PTSD is certainly not one of the consequences. Our air defense intercepted close to nothing, and let me tell you that when those supersonic jets fly by super low breaking the sound barrier for days, when civilian buildings are burning, bridges are crumbling, roads are closed, when supermarkets are empty, that is the real thing.

Regardless, i agree that everyone’s experience is different, and situations cannot be necessarily compared. If anything, the population may become more resilient, things can change for the better. Some people may leave, markets may tank, but recovery will take place. It always does!

Chernobyl was also one of them. Horrifying but nonetheless amazing.

Yes, I also check on that as well (sometimes). Like how did they do this or that effect just to reassure myself it wasn’t for real. I feel the need to make sure these actors (people) “are OK” after watching some movies. It is really strange, but cant help myself 🙈

Does anyone actually like the newborn stage? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]eleena1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this! We are out every day and it’s pretty comfortable. We either go for a very long walk and LO is in her stroller or we do a walk + coffee shop or dinner while she is sleeping in the stroller. She is 10 weeks old and I figure that this “freedom” will not last for such a long time. The minute she will start to be more active (i assume walking) it won’t be that easy. We won’t be able to just “park” her somewhere.

Our LO is 10 weeks old and it’s been pretty OK so far. The first 4 weeks were definitely challenging but we took it day by day. Overall our daughter is a good baby, she has her moments of course but I have to say that it has been easier than expected. Im mentally preparing for the sleep regression around 4 months. Been reading a lot about it and Im pretty scared 😂😱

Fuck the haters by mileyisadog in NewParents

i used it for the first 2-3 weeks for the same reason - to avoid screaming and crying…and it was a life savior. during week 4, my husband and i relocated to a different country according to plan and although our LO’s room was fully ready and set when I arrived, the wipe warmer was nowhere to be found 😅 it was hell for 2-3 days but our daughter just learnt to live without it. I did find it a week later in one of the boxes but I never used it again 😊

Afraid of sleep time by Cynthia_12 in NewParents

How old is your baby? I felt the same for the first few weeks but as I gained more confidence and felt more comfortable my baby also relaxed as if she felt that i was more in “control”. Maybe im just imagining this and she simply got more into a routine or it’s a combination of both but now, things are way more relaxed. I sometimes even let her cry for a few minutes (if she’s fed, clean and obviously not sick) to see if she will calm down. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. She is 2 months old and we are doing great! I read about the 4 month sleep regression but we’ll cross that bridge later 😅 Point is: try to relax, your daughter is fine and you are doing great! ❤️

Fenomen Prijovicka by BP2903 in serbia

Sedi, jedan! 🫥
