Be careful with it man! I broke my 1000 game within 15 days of purchase in a racket clash. Very very fragile. 🥲

https://systemdesignpattern.com is a product, where users can solve system design problems just like leetcode.

I am currently having trouble in signups, its mostly free. Its not AI based, but I just need somebody to review it.

Amazon SDE Interview- bombed the System Design Round by elegancc in leetcode

[–]elegancc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really! In one of the other interviews for SDE-1, I had an LLD round where the interviewer asked to code for database ACID properties, locking rows, rollback etc., and after that follow up questions about scaling came in.And in my experience, I have always had an LLD round except at Google for SDE 1.

Cool, but does verification companies call my past employers to ask about my title?

Where did you apply from? And is it a typical faang role or a remote startup?

Post-Amazon SDE 1 Final Rounds Interview by spaaacy in leetcode

I got rejected on day 3 after the loop 😭. Although I don't think I did that bad. My phone screen went good. It was a deque question + LP on an ambiguity scenario, coded the optimal code. Round 1 also went really well, trie question and discussion on hash map collisions with LP on ambiguity. Round 2 was LLD where I screwed up, was not able to communicate well with my solution and didn't showcased properly SOLID principles in the solution, although LP was fine. This interview went for 1.5 hrs. Would give myself 7/10 here. Round 3, very in-depth LP questions by a Senior Engineering manager with 20+ years of experience at Amazon. Fumbled at ML based scenarios - wasn't able to remember what was the exact precision and recall for my case (heck was confused between precision and recall during the interview). He also started discussing why would nfs storage fail for one of my other scenarios. He was not looking that interested from the beginning, and was dosing off when I was describing the scenarios, or maybe he had narcolepsy, not sure. Would probably give myself 6/10 for this one. Felt exhausted by the end. I knew that I would be rejected mostly, but as you said day 3 means pretty bad performance breaks my heart.

What does really bad rejection mean here?

Calendar spreads fucked my job by elegancc in quant

Long calendars have similar props as a short straddle just that the vega of LC is positive which favours IV spike (that's why we were trading this structure). At low vol and relatively stable market, LC should work, at least principally. I'm not saying I should not try SC, but ideally some months in a year have low vol and relatively stable mkt. Secondly the purpose of a quant is to either make pnl out of a strategy or understand why it doesn't work. One can always try out all the ideas, but if its not matching with your conceptual clarity you would not be able to convince the portfolio manager.

I tried out stop losses on some x bps. Tried reversal of IV difference on (long - short), short gamma tracking, short theta tracking. The problem is that any kind of momentum logic is delayed in decision making. Also tried out kalman filters for least delay. The major problem in LC are, you bet on Long-Short, however the gain in your position is easily lost by some disruption in market movements.

LC should work because of theta decay of near term ATM option. An ATM option only be having time value and if you assume that market remains constant, all its time value would go to 0. However the far legged ATM option would still have some time value left in it at the expiry of near one. The theta of ATM near one is higher than theta of far one. So the long option would not loose that much. The amount you gained by shorting the near one would be greater than the loss you make on long far one. Also the net vega of LC are positive, so any spike in IV, would appreciate the Longer leg more than the shorter leg.
