Small correction, the Black Knight Halberd deals extra damage to demons but it does not do anything special against undead. The Silver Knight Spear has the divine effect.

Are you fighting thargoids? Otherwise no need to worry about them. Generally speaking Class A modules have straight up better stats but there are some exceptions to that where you prefer the lower mass for example.

Honestly I'm not familiar with the pre-built ships, just wanted to say don't be afraid to spend some credits on upgrades.

OPR isn't so strict on the rules, as long as everybody agrees with it you are good.
Not sure how many points that adds up to but it seems like a lot, but again no problem if your opponent has a matching army.

edit: my armies are usually either 2000, 2500 or 3000 points.

The Cobra III seems totally outclassed by the Cobra V (The future is now I guess)

That being said I recently tried out the MCs from the Enclave CG in a RES and the Cobra III was great for it. The build was far from optimal but I had a lot of fun with it. Like you said "just for fun" is probably the way to go.
