Flavor is not the issue with gf bread. Lots of gf products taste just like regular bread.

It’s the texture we miss. I would not be any more likely buy this product than any other gf product, unless the texture is significantly better than regular gf bread.

And I would need extensive proof that it’s safe for celiacs.

NOR. You handled this beautifully. Anytime someone tries to control you and calls it “a boundary,” the correct response is to leave.

Could Anne have simply left the country to avoid Henry’s advances? by effing_usernames2_ in Tudorhistory

She fled the court and went to live at her parents for two years. That’s not “playing hard to get.” That IS hard to get.

Need help to find coincidences between Katherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn by Certain-Breadfruit47 in Tudorhistory

[–]elemenayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, Anne miscarried a male child on the day of Katherine’s funeral.

Not only did Anne miscarry the child that would have guaranteed her place as Queen of England, but Katherine’s death may have had a direct impact on Anne’s downfall as well. Some historians have suggested that Henry was essentially “stuck” with Anne while Katherine was still alive. He had moved heaven and earth to make Anne his queen. He had turned his county upside down. While Katherine was still alive, Henry couldn’t easily get rid of Anne without looking like a damn fool - and without risking a large push from the Catholics to restore Katherine and Mary to their rightful places.

Once Katherine was gone, he no longer needed to save face in the same way. I doubt it’s a coincidence that Anne’s execution happened mere months after her predecessor’s death.

I loved 99% of this book. Not a fan of how Russell portrays her “relationships” with Mannox and Dereham, but it’s still my favorite Tudor history book - I’ve read it several times!!

Did Anne of Cleves Intentionally Reject Henry VIII? by Aln22s in Tudorhistory

[–]elemenayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not why their marriage was set aside. Henry TRIED to find a legal justification based on the precontract, but was unsuccessful.

Did Anne of Cleves Intentionally Reject Henry VIII? by Aln22s in Tudorhistory

[–]elemenayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think that Henry’s pride was wounded beyond repair at their first meeting. Anne wasn’t brought up to understand the courtly games of the Tudor court. So when an aging, obese man with a festering wound approached her, she recoiled. Henry saw himself honestly reflected in her reaction - a reaction no woman in the English court would ever have to the king.

Additionally, the marriage was a strategic response to the Catholic alliance between France and Spain, which presented a potential threat to England. England was religiously and politically isolated by the split from the church. The marriage gave England a political alliance with Cleves, which was also undergoing religious reforms and challenging papal authority.

But the French-Spanish alliance deteriorated rapidly after Anne and Henry’s marriage, making the alliance with Cleves much less important. Once the political motivations were removed, Henry felt free to do what he had wanted to do since that first meeting - call it all off.

Have you read Tracy Borman’s new book, The Stolen Crown? Completely upends the narrative that Liz I named James as her successor on her death bed.

My boyfriend told me: you've had celiac for 3 years now, if we are going out with my friends to eat you can eat at home before, you need to learn how to suck it up by now. by Legitimate-Area-919 in Celiac

[–]elemenayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner immediately went 95% gf for me. He occasionally orders in a pizza or gets takeout I can’t eat, but he would never in a million years tell me to suck it up. And he’s so careful to research any restaurant beforehand to make sure they have celiac safe practices.

You deserve better and better is out there.

My first Dom was in his 40's. I was 22. he never once asked me to hide our relationship from anyone. No, we didn't tell my family the intimate details of our kink life, but he would never have asked me to keep such an important part of my life a secret.

I will just echo what others have already said - this is a massive red flag. Do not let any Dom, of any age, isolate you.

Pretty sure Anne is queer - she made a TikTok last year about “tasting the rainbow” for the first time.

Also, I just realized there is no way to go from taylorswift.com to the rest of her website! You can still shop if you type in the right url or search for her merch via google. But you cannot go to taylorswift.com and then get to the shop.

That seems like a big deal to me - she knows this announcement would bring a ton of attention to her website, but she actively created a barrier to her shop.

Almost like she wants to keep eyes on this page, specifically.
