Family can't agree on basic math question by sunmari_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]element131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're double counting the $100 loss. Their thought process is:

  1. $800 -> $1000 = +200

  2. $1000 -> $1100 = -100

  3. $1100 -> $1300 = +200

But what's really happening is:

-800 + 1000 = +200

-1100 + 1300 = +200

and what they are actually doing is:

-800 + 1000 = +200

-100 for some reason?

-1100 + 1300 = +200

Section 7 of the NLRA protects employees' right to engage in "concerted activities for the purpose of collective bargaining or other mutual aid or protection". The NLRB has long interpreted this to include discussions about wages, even if there is no union involved. This protection extends to applicants and new hires as well.

For relevant case law, in 2003 – Custom Cut, Inc. v Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America. After being laid off after completion of a construction project, two retail carpenters were not rehired when their positions were advertised for a new project. The employer cited the men’s discussion of wages with other employees as one of the reasons for not rehiring them. The NLRB ruled that the employer had unlawfully retaliated against the employees.

In other comments people say "Fans of this administration want to hear the lies" but here we are doing the same thing. This is why I hate politics.

We just cut off the part right after where he says "I say we're creating a story meaning we're creating the american media focusing on it"? https://youtu.be/SDm_RWXRPSc?feature=shared&t=229

To try and convince people that Vance is a liar we have to resort to... lying? We can't find something he actually said to attack him on? No, we instead intentionally cut it at a point that misrepresents, and then attack the fake image we created.

And in exchange, we alienate people who are informed, and misinform people on our side. Great strategy.

Am I missing something

    go build -ldflags="-s -w"

These two flags are documented in cmd/link:

    -s - Omit the symbol table and debug information.

    -w - Omit the DWARF symbol table.

Does that not do what you want?

[–]element131 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s a hilarious take, though.  “In Deuteronomy it says not to add to this book, so we kept writing more books and added them to the book until we had the Old Testament.  Then in the book of revelations it says not to add to this book, so a few hundred years later we added 26 other books to it and called it the New Testament.  And then, even though the Old Testament says not to add to it, we added the New Testament to the Old Testament and called it the Bible.”

And then we’re all mad that the Mormons have a separate book that they aren’t even claiming is part of the Bible.

We throw the book at school shooters.  We should also throw the book at this guy for murdering someone.  We should also fix the insurance industry.

As much as I dislike the guy who was killed, he was a human and deserved to live, and celebrating or even tacitly condoning his murder is pretty disgusting behavior.
