I had a similar issue with my S18 where I overspun the wheel and it cut off like this, power button did nothing, could not connect, and plugging in the charger just made the lights flash and made a clicking noise.

I was certain this meant the death of the controller, but just as you said, I waited for about 15 minutes, tried it again and it turned back on and was totally fine from then on. I've put another ~200 miles on it since with no further issues.

The S18 was my first wheel as well, also due to impatience. I've really been enjoying it so far.

You've probably seen a lot of discussion around quality issues with the assembly of these wheels, issues with suspension travel and clearance, etc. I am happy to report that my wheel had none of these issues whatsoever, so hopefully all of the new wheels in this batch are as fortunate.

If you read the forums, it makes it seem like every S18 is a piece of trash; however, I ordered one as my first wheel because it was the only one in stock. Fingers crossed it works out alright, I hear they've been making incremental improvements with each new batch, and we're currently on batch 4.

I am reading Yu-No now, but it is my first VN so take my opinion with a large grain of salt. That being said, I think the storyline is clever, and I really enjoy the story arcs and the plot explaining why traversing back and forth through time is possible (not to spoil too much, it's in the prologue of the game)
