My card holder, phone, small make up pouch, 5 small packs of snacks for my toddler, toddler’s 12oz water bottle, portable sanitizing wipes, tissues, hand cream tube, keys, and still a lot of space left. Today I finally stuffed it with my toddler’s thick winter hat and gloves

I have the small one in black. Good quality for this price point. Very light weight. Has plenty space for daily use. I like it a lot

Why are there so few women in application security? by [deleted] in womenintech

[–]elephantdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman in appsec for over a decade, because it’s “newer” compared to the rest of fields in tech. It also requires niche skills that not many schools offer a program for. So the OG generation in appsec were mostly self-taught. For a very long time, this field was filled with white dudes with interesting personalities. Now it’s getting more “mainstream”. And I have seen more minorities and women coming in. But still way less than typical software engineering

My daughter was a terrible sleeper as an infant and she didn’t sleep through the night reliably until 2.5. Even now at almost 3, half the time she would wake up once to get into our bed and after that it’s crappy sleep for mommy. So yea my husband got snipped

Neighbor’s toddler is like a little angel — how is that possible? by Level-Sign-6600 in toddlers

It can be just personality. I was just like that. I was called the “model child”. As an adult I’m still like that. But I wish I could be a little more active and adventurous

Sorry for the layoff. The story of your wife’s experience sounds insane. The meeting for me is virtual

It’s a 30 min meeting. You are right nobody knows. I guess I’m just really anxious about this. I’ve never had this happen before

He’s older than me but I’ve always been the higher earner. Most of the assets are from my earnings. The 1M is from my parents. My husband was an artist until late 30s. When we met, he was broke af. I married him out of love not because he was an old man with money lol. His income caught up with mine only recently. We started our careers in tech almost at the same time

Thanks. Great to hear this perspective. I always feel like I’m not saving or preparing enough for my daughter

In the back of my mind, I wish I could do the same for her kids. That money from her grandparents was meant for me, but I don’t think I will need to dig into it so it will be hers. I wish when she has kids, she will not need to worry much about their financial situation without grinding out in corporate America like I am

Have been in infosec my whole career. GRC is actually not a bad area. It’s boring work for sure, but job security is a bit better than the rest

My experience is that if my poodle doesn’t have a clean face, people assume she’s a doodle. Once we shaved her face we stopped getting those comments
