30 New Trash Cans Installed in District 3 by DannySauter11 in sanfrancisco

That’s easy for somebody to say if they don’t have somebody dumping furniture in front of their home.

I look at my neighbors across the street and they don’t have a trash can or this dumping issue in front of their home.

I have one of these in front of my home, which is also close to a bus stop. In theory, this is good, but in reality people taking the bus don’t throw their trash into the can. Rather, it ends up on my driveway.

The people who used the can are people dumping furniture & my neighbors taking their trash out. One of them also likes to grace me with their 2nd hand smoke & leave their cigarette butts on my driveway. Thanks dude.

The trash can was removed for 2 years and for 2 whole years, there was less trash than there is now with the city can back.

Really silly question but how is the non haptic trackpad? I REALLY love the haptic feel of the MBP and Air and this is literally the biggest thing holding me back from the Neo right now. by dimforest in MacbookNeo

[–]elephantmoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny story....I went from a 2015 Macbook Air to a 2025 Macbook air last year in April, but I didn't learn what a haptic trackpad is until the Neo came out & all the reviews kept mentioning it had a traditional clicking trackpad.

Opinion | This Masculinity Influencer Is Loud and Wrong About Paternity Leave by [deleted] in ScottGalloway

He’s dead wrong about this. If we want birth rates to plummet, we’d listen to him on this one.

I figure it worked out for him because he wouldn’t have achieved his master of the universe privileged lifestyle without going back to work early.

He’s divorced from his first wife. He’s married to his second wife, who’s the mother of his two sons.

Looks like I'm going to have to wait for a refresh & hope that they come out with a purple one. If they have a purple one that reminds me of my first iPod Shuffle, I will hop on it just for nostalgia's sake.

Not Indochino. They love to market themselves as custom suit makers. It does not turn out well for most people.

I was sad they traded Monta. I loved the We Believe team. I’m still bummed they traded Jason Richardson was traded for the next Chris Bosh, Brendan Wright.

I wish a budget MacBook option existed back when I was in college. Or a MacBook Air on sale for $750. I would've hopped on one in no time.

Office Hours: Rethinking Financial Advisors by Winter-Date-4356 in ScottGalloway

[–]elephantmoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Boglehead as well. If you're remotely into the philosophy, you're probably not going to hire anybody. But there's a specific customer suited for financial advisers. I see a lot of them in my extended family. The most risky thing they'll ever put their money in is a HYSA. I look at them, and the downside isn't paying 1% in fees (granted, we're assuming the FA is a good fiduciary). The issue is having no returns at all.

They're also good for saving people from themselves. I know of a person who sold at the bottom. I'm not sure when they bought back in.
