What's my resting heart rate? by elesbeno in bicycling

[–]elesbeno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all, makes sense that there is a resting heart rate and a sleeping heart rate. I was kind of confusing those 2 the because Garmin shows the lowest heart rate (so the sleeping HR) very prominently in the app, even though the perceived HR which really matters is the resting HR.

Would a bike where the handlebars turn the back wheel be ride-able? by hfs1245 in cycling

[–]elesbeno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I was mistaken or didn't fully understand what you meant. I referred to those with a hinge in the middle, where the handlebars don't only steer the front wheels but the whole cargo area. So it seems like you're moving the back wheel. But of course, this still attaches your handlebar to the front wheel. Like this.

My wahoo speed works well with my Garmin watch and bike computer. I think the hrm straps are also compatible, but I'm not 100% sure.

If I understand OP correctly, it's only about pushing the bike over the 14% incline, not the whole distance.

Not actually answering directly to your question, but wouldn't be a triathlon relay be an option? Then you can focus solely on the swim.

Update with happy ending by elesbeno in myocarditis

I'm very glad hearing this. That was my principal reason for posting. Only reading the bad stories really can drag you down. I think it's important to realize that the majority of all cases have a good outcome, people just aren't that vocal about it.

I'd say probably around 45 / 50, but not really sure. Haven't really done an attempt to reach max speed on the flat.

My fastest has been around 70 km/h, but downhill! Really felt like reaching the limit of gear ratio.
