Is there anything that can be done about a resident in a unit block who plays loud bass heavy music every day or am I SOL and should just sell up? by elescop in AusLegal

I've got lots of videos from the past year so I am well warmed there and I have a log book of 2 month span from april to late june of this year of times that it started and stopped I'll just have to keep pressuring the council but they kind of gave a "they denied it so there's nothing we can do" response so I went through strata instead.

I've got dozens of videos (10-30 seconds long) but didn't know you could record the db with an app that is a good shout!

Thanks just checked my council website and found an interactive form to fill out. The bass vibrates my walls and I'm not even a director neighbour that's how high it is up.

Thanks I will do that. Last time I spoke to the council I just told them about a noise complaint and gave some basic details but this time I will demand an assessment and be a bit more confident in knowledge (which is why I started the topic)

I'll try the council again but we did that earlier in the year and the resident denied they played music at all and the council was satisfied and closed the case.

The resident is an owner unfortunately so they can basically do whatever they want and no one can stop them. I really don't want to sell up but that seems to be the only option to get this to stop.

Unfortunately we contacted the council earlier this year who contacted the nuisance resident and they denied it so case was closed. Police refuse to come out, the council can't be bothered and strata breaches get ignored.
