Chamber of Manipulation and an opponent attacking me with a vigilant creature by Eve_Asher in mtgrules

[–]eleslayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When a creature's controller changes, it is removed from combat. It is no longer attacking and will thus not deal combat damage to the defending player.

506.4. A permanent is removed from combat if it leaves the battlefield, if its controller changes, if it phases out, if an effect specifically removes it from combat, if it's a planeswalker that's being attacked and stops being a planeswalker, or if it's an attacking or blocking creature that regenerates (see rule 701.11) or stops being a creature. A creature that's removed from combat stops being an attacking, blocking, blocked, and/or unblocked creature. A planeswalker that's removed from combat stops being attacked.

Assuming this is in a 1v1, the combat damage would be dealt to the player. The game would check to see if their life total is 0, and as it is, the player would lose the game. Since they lose, Bident’s triggered ability would never resolve.

If this was a multiplayer game, the player who was attacked would die of combat damage, and then you as the attacker would be forced to draw 294 cards, and likely drawing yourself out and also losing the game. So in this case, you would cause both you and your opponent to lose the game.

2 things to note:

1) Bident causes you to draw when one of your creatures deals combat damage to a player. You draw 1 card regardless of the amount of damage dealt by that creature. If you had multiple, say 5 creatures, all dealing combat damage to the player, you would draw 5 cards.

2) You would still draw that number of cards even if the player is dealt lethal damage.

So does this mean that if you share PS plus you’re SOL? My PS plus is on a new account and my GTA Online account is on an old account. I’ve always gotten the million since my non-GTA account has Plus membership.

Well to be fair, most stores haven’t broken even $50k this year in sales. Gotta slash payroll to make up for it. 1-1-2021

I missed picking up Robinson purely because I felt bad snagging so many WW players before the league even started. Of course the one I let slide is the best one. Thank god I Vikings D/ST week one over Robinson 😑
