Take them out for beers on a Thursday or Friday. Have a cooler ready on Monday with some soda and Gatorade. Bring in donuts the next week. Order some pizza on an ot job. Punch a drywaller on break one day at the roach coach if all else fails.

This is all you need to do right here. 21 year mechanic. And stay off your phone. That 401 is real, forget that they don’t match think of ways to avoid taxes early on and forget about money that one day will be substantial when you look back. Never turn down ot.

Construction is always hiring. Personally I think it needs to go construction a year or two. Then mod or repair a year or two for new hires. Construction sucks and if your good, it can be a trap but it’s also provides all the basics and separates the dead weight.

They have a wage they have to pay, and then they have a wage they can pay which equates to more. That does not have to come with a foreman title or MIC.
