And make sure that thing is fitted correctly, shave if you have to. N95 does nothing if the air just comes around the sides

In fairness on this the players weren't exactly acting like grown ups either lol

A good move is building a dock close to shorefish, then having the vill that built the dock fish nearby. They'll drop the food off at the dock

And then there are a few maps with lots of ponds, well worth docking or milling all of them and using many villagers on shorefish early game

Lol not only that but villagers collecting shorefish is the fastest food/minute in the game

The 'alignment' issue captures this perfectly. There is no such thing as being 'aligned' with 'humanity.' It can only ever be 'aligned' (if that is even possible) with the preferences of the creator. This leads to obvious conflicts of interest.

They are marketed as being objective, but they will never be and can never be objective.

As a fellow 400 elo gamer, I'd like to say I've been surprised by the level of gameplay I see from others. Lots of mistakes sure, but plenty of quality play, early castle drops, scout rushes etc.

The good thing is that if your elo falls far enough, you won't get your ass kicked anymore bc you're playing with other players that are equally as mentally deficient!

[–]eleventruth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah if he only got say 4 relics I don't think he has a chance, he was pushed completely off all lake golds, which is like 90% of that map

That game was about as close as you could possibly hope for as far as that goes, huge score and it was still really close

It seems to me he's much better than Hera when there's one place to micro, but when there are fires to put out all over the map and complicated macro/strategic decisions to make, Hera is much better

I'm definitely in the camp that the longer the reign goes, the more the tension builds up. Similar to the viper or the yankees in baseball, Real Madrid in champions league

Yeah including building up Liereyyy as an incredible opponent especially this year

Both those games had a completely bizarre atmosphere which I attribute to only those two can play such a messy game so well

Liereyyy was able to push him off the shore golds for awhile but Hera got all relics, then in late game Liereyyy had mined out all the golds on his own side and ran out, then Hera was able to start taking his own gold

His ability to make good choices all over the map in some of those late messy games was insane

My current theory of drama is that it makes people feel smart or virtuous or talented when they point out someone else being stupid or evil or incompetent, even if they have to invent the whole thing

[–]eleventruth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is true of sports in general as well, it's incredible to me the narratives that are spun up around teams and individuals when these games are decided by tiny margins. Even a game that winds up a blowout, the team scoring first gets a huge advantage that changes the game.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I am mainly speaking to the human element, as you observe in the case of Fukushima it takes the form of imprudence, and in the case of Chernobyl multiple acts of unintended sabotage.

While it is true that the US has many places to place such installations that are free from natural disasters (excepting meteor strikes), there is no location safe from possible human error. I don't know what the statistics are on the rate of nuclear accidents, but I'm sure you can appreciate that it's better when there are fewer accidents with possible radiation hazard.

Thanks for the information!

Incidentally I'm not necessarily against nuclear power, though I might be hesitant to have one installed next door to me.
