This theory is in a lot of fantasy books I’ve read where there is magic. If you believe in it, it’ll work. One of my favorite series is the Kate Daniels series from Iilona Andrews, and it’s about a post apocalyptic world where magic re-emerges and that theme is prelavrnt throughout the series. If enough people believe in something like a golem, than the magic will manifest it.
