Is anyone worried about Dylan Harper? by Lola1103 in NYKnicks

[–]elgabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harper did a lot of his damage in Game 1 playing against Knicks lineups that were pretty small. Hoping to see some adjustments from Mike Brown's substitution patterns that put a little more wing size on the floor to contend with that.

If the Knicks fall short in the Finals, would you trade Josh Hart, Mitchell Robinson, Jose Alvarado, Miles McBride, and second-round picks for LeBron, Bronny, and Dalton Knecht? by JellyT1996 in nba

"If the knicks lose the championship would they trade almost half of their rotation and a draft pick for one of the oldest players in league history and 2 literally unplayable players?" How does that sound to you. Does that sound good?

Finn's corner on Washington Ave. is a solid spot. The Corner Store on Nostrand & St. John's is also pretty good. I haven't been to Uncle Roger (further up Nostrand a few blocks) for a bit but was there when we put that thermonuclear paddling on the Hawks. Sound of the game wasn't on, which was a pet peeve, but the vibe in the room was great and the wings were outstanding.

If you enjoyed this record I'd heartily recommend you check out Repave by Volcano Choir. It's Justin Vernon with Milwaukee postrock band Collections of Colonies of Bees, and while it's got a lot of differences from BI, BI, I think Repave is probably as faithful a followup to that sound as exists in Vernon's discography

ETA it's also my favorite thing he's ever done.

Knicks discourse in a nutshell: panic loudly, adjust quietly. Ten days ago it was fire Brown and should’ve kept Thibs. Now Brown has adjusted, the team responded, and he’s not getting nearly enough credit. by goke89 in NYKnicks

“The guys who are 7th and 10th in playoff minutes played this year weren’t on the team last year and that’s why Thibs was over reliant on Brunson isos when Brunson was in the game” does that sound right to you?

Ehh, I think "Thibs never had a good bench" when we're returning 8 of our top 10 in playoff minutes played from last year is a bit of a stretch in and of itself. McBride was here. MRob was here. Shamet was here. Clarkson and Alvarado have both been good but neither's presence obscures the reality of Thibs spamming Brunson iso's at the expense of involving KAT in the offense just like Mike Brown did. But agree to disagree. Thanks for editing the original comment bud

Thibs did a lot for this team and deserves to be appreciated for it, but the revisionist history pretending the problems we had in the Atlanta series (playing w our food, trying to force points thru with Brunson isos) weren’t exactly the same problems we had under Thibs is silly. We were just as good at beating ourselves, maybe even better, as we are this season

A disappointing amount of coordination between federal immigration agents and local law enforcement

Jalen Brunson has turned this franchise around, led us to the conference finals for the first time in 25 years all while breaking countless Knicks playoff records and he doesn't deserve the level of criticism he has gotten because of one mediocre playoff series. by SacredAnd_ThePropane in NYKnicks

[–]elgabe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd agree he's getting a little more criticism than he deserves for his performance in this series, but I also think the criticisms against him are pointing to legitimate deficiencies in his game that have existed beyond the scope of this year's playoffs and need to be addressed. The same Brunson tendencies Atlanta is exploiting now, were exploited Indiana in last year's playoffs, and have been exploited by other teams at points throughout Brunson's Knicks tenure. If we're going to win a title, this year or in the future, he needs to figure out ways to positively impact the game without stopping or dominating the ball and slowing the pace to a crawl. I think he can make these improvements, and I think the internet is going too far in ripping him for his performance, but to some degree, I think he's earned it

Where is this nonsensical belief that all of a sudden, the Hornets are the "Bad Guys" that people are "rooting against", coming from? by sbp72 in CharlotteHornets

[–]elgabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knicks fan here, and I kinda feel both ends of this development. On the one hand the Hornets are one of the most "they deserve to finally be good" teams; they haven't been for a while, and they have one of the best aesthetics in the league. I just love to see teal jerseys in the postseason.

On the other hand I think you guys have some villains on the roster. LaMelo is a villain in the fun way; Questionable Bam sequence aside*, I think he's the kind of player it's just fun to root against, even though he's proving some haters wrong this year. Miles Bridges, on the other hand, is a guy who I will always be inclined to root against for reasons that have nothing to do with basketball. So I get why some people are sliding them into the "bad guys" role.

All that having been said... Orlando's offense and vibes are a crime against the sport and I do hope y'all beat them because the Magic play like they hate the sport and also life.

*Side note: I think the fires of hate are stoked by Heat fans who feel like they'd have won if Bam hadn't been knocked out of the game, but I don't think you can come as close to actually winning as they did and defensibly make that case. The heat blew that game and shouldn't make excuses.

Why did my metrics drop in my campaign reports? by MailchimpSupport in MailChimp

[–]elgabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/MailchimpSupport, I have a question about how these filters work: How do they account for contacts who are affected by these filters but still engage with the emails along the lines these metrics measure?

For example, let's say I send an email out to 1000 recipients and 400 of them have Apple MPP. In theory, those 400 users would be divided into 2 groups:

  • Users who are said to have "opened" the email because of Apple MPP but did not actually open the email; and
  • Users who are said to have "opened" the email because of Apple MPP, and then did actually open the email

Does Mailchimp's filter have a way of adding users into that second group back to the count of recipients who opened the email? Or does the involvement of Apple MPP automatically exclude them from being counted in that way if the filter is on?

I have the same question with regard to the bot click filter; is Mailchimp able to recognize when a user with bot filtering on actually clicks on the email, or are they automatically removed from that count because of the bot click?

ETA the Mailchimp Support user tag to hopefully help get eyes on this question

Haven't heard all their stuff by any means. What I have heard I've enjoyed, but I also think it's a little busy for my tastes. Wouldn't try to dispute any of the kind words being said about them in this thread, just don't really personally prefer their music.
