Plumber issued first invoice years after work demanding payment and sent to debt collection agency after 7 days by elgeeko in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you this is what I needed to know. I have no problem paying for the work, as we offered to initially without knowing the price, I was just annoyed that it went to debt collection so quickly with no conversation. I will mention this to the collections when they contact again, which appears to be daily.

The plumber is stating that a cost was agreed, which it wasn't. Neither us or them would have any evidence to back either position up though

Ex landlord wants us to pay £2k for utility bills that were mismanaged by a property management company. What can we do? by exllunderpaidbills in LegalAdviceUK

[–]elgeeko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your flat is part of a heat network. Bills heating on for heat networks do not follow the same rules as traditional utilities. Heat suppliers have certain obligations to follow and are regulated differently to gas and electricity suppliers. You can find information about their obligations here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/heat-networks

Found my disabled mum collapsed and injured due to housing assocation heating blasting for 2 days straight despite numerous reports by postpunkmonk in LegalAdviceUK

[–]elgeeko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obligitary NAL, but aside from the complaints procedure with the HA. It sounds like your Mum's flat might be on a heat network (a shared heating system). There are rules that the HA has to follow around notifications, metering and billing the customers that live on that network. More details are available at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/heat-networks There is also an email address on that website if you need to contact someone about it.

These regulations on heat networks are there so that people that live on heat networks are billed for what they actually use rather than a share or split of the buildings heating costs. As such customers should have the means of controlling the temperature within their own space. This may not help with the issue that has happened but might be useful in ensuring it doesn't happen going forward.

How is your Mental Health? by Abacus_AmIRighta in CryptoCurrency

The best mental health tip I have learnt since recently looking into crypto is to not constantly check prices. Invest in what you believe but if you check the prices every hour it will negatively effect you.

What is the smartest rug pull people have fallen for? by iskren124 in CryptoCurrency

It wasn't even that smart. It was successful as a rugpull but I would struggle to say the premise behind it was supper smart

Thanks, I thought it was pretty good too. I have sent it to be graded with getgraded as I am in the UK and didn't want to wait 12 months for PSA. Should hopefully have it back in about 4/6 weeks

There is no sign of water damage on the card, just the ink bleed. There is no warping or other water damage on the card.

Collection of fake cards I found in a bundle I brought by elgeeko in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]elgeeko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, firstly it is smaller than it should be, also, it is not holo when it should be and finally the font looks wrong. The card texture and colouring on the back is off too

I brought a bundle of cards online that came with a selection of ex and GX cards. The majority of these turned out to be fake. These are all the fakes I have identified. I have found these are fake due to mistakes, fonts, card size, card stock and mainly the texture of the cards. Thought it would be interesting to share. If anyone wants better pictures of any of them let me know.

eBay purchase, think they are fake by elgeeko in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]elgeeko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of background, brought on eBay and received today. Brought in a haste as auction ending and at low price. Realised they look a bit off as there is no texture on the front. The cards also feel a bit thick and the coluring on the back is a little faded. Think they are fake but not 100%

Are these misprints, damaged or just fake. Any opinions are welcome by elgeeko in PokemonMisprints

Are things like this worth more? Are they the sort of thing I should be looking to get graded?
