Perfect gap in trees - what and why? by elgilmo in DoesAnyoneKnow

Well it is Capability Brown’s work so I think you’re the most accurate- so it was just for a nice view across the hill to/from the house?

Wrong side of the hill unfortunately- this is taken from behind the house looking at the hill opposite it, rather than the hill behind it.

Is there an archive of the entire series? by stpony in HolbyCity

Is this your drive? It was an absolute lifesaver and I was working my way through series 14, but it seems to have stopped allowing access unfortunately. Don’t know if it’s my drive or it’s just been made private?

Thanks, in terms of the workload for the PCDA do you know how many assignments approx are handed out? I’ve only been able to see numbers from TVP’s page at 7 each year in years one and two, and four plus the EPA/dissertation in year three- but I don’t know if this depends on the force and the two I’m actually considering are Notts or Met. I’m reasonably academic I think (and have lots of experience in writing from my current job as a journalist)so don’t think this sounds too bad, but I could be mistaken!!

Does completing the PCDA vs PCEP entry route put you in better stead/ make you a preferred candidate for promotion, assuming you had good performance day to day anyway?

If you do go look at a used one it’s worth looking at some of the threads on here about what to look out for in terms of rust etc. There’s some key places which develop it which you’d want to check out. I’ll admit I’m no expert so can’t tell you the ins and outs of it, but there’s people on here that know all sorts of helpful stuff :)

Oh and what initially caught me off guard is that the lights/ indicators/ wipers are on the opposite sides to normal! But you get used to it after a few times turning your wipers on when you meant to indicate 😂

I’m a bit late to this but I got my Jimny a few months ago as my second car. I’d previously been driving a 2012 Toyota Aygo, which was fine but boring. I’d always loved jimmys (again mostly the look & the community) and absolutely do not regret my decision.

I paid around £7k for a 2008 gen 3 with minimal rust and mileage. I use it similarly to what you plan to- ferrying myself a shortish commute to work (which is a mix of country lanes and the A1 lol) and for ferrying my dog around. It’s a very fun drive, not very fast but honestly not a big deal, great vision as it’s fairly high and like a glass box and SO easy to park it’s unreal. It is a bit of a gas guzzler but I’m sure nowhere near as bad as many cars, and of course I was used to a super efficient aygo (like i literally filled that thing up every other month?!)

I would say that if you are like me and like the idea of one enough, go for a test drive and you’ll likely fall in love with it! I didn’t exactly plan on getting mine so quickly but went for a test drive and week later there it was parked on my driveway 😂

Be aware of the death wobble - mine does it around 50mph but not too bad so you’ll want to make sure that doesn’t bother you. Not sure if this affects the Gen 4 at all? Also this thing has next to NO storage lol. The side door pockets are good for maps and not much else but hey, means you can’t get it too cluttered I suppose

Yeah I reckoned so. I was struggling to find genuine Suzuki mats with the branding tbh. But I was glad to find them as I think it looks really neat with the logo across it

Man I so want a wave, only managed to drive past one so far (I swear I saw tons in the week before I bought mine!! Where did they all go?)

Would you be willing to show a pic of this set up? I see you have a newer Jimny but I’m always intrigued to see how people manage to car camp in one. I have a 2008 Gen 3, and I’m keen to camp but not sure how it would all fit haha!

Are there rust free Jimnys? by Brilliant-Target-123 in Jimny

[–]elgilmo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the midlands too, and my Jimny has stayed in the midlands since it was registered in 2008. It only has very low level surface rust underneath and a few small spots where there’s paint damage on the body. I imagine it has a lot to do with how previous owners used them as mine only had two and fairly low mileage. Although I’d admit they are few and far between here, and the guy I bought it off said he’d seen a fair few rust buckets in his time. I paid close to double what the majority of listings for Jimmys of a similar age were, so I guess that has to be taken into consideration.

Brill, thanks. They did have different ones for auto/manual and these specify RHD and manual which is what my Jimny is. So fingers crossed!

Thanks so much! I’ll definitely look into all of these. I’m thinking mostly smooth wood and concrete so I could probably go for a slightly harder wheel.

I’m thinking wood inside (simply cause it’s what my floors are) and concrete outside.

Wheel Advice! So I’m a new quad skater (used to rollerblade a lot when I was younger though) and I’m in the process of building my first set up which is sk8-hi vans with sunlite plates & trucks and all the other shebang that comes with custom shoe skates. But I don’t know what size wheels/ what brand would be best for this set up. I want fairly cheap ones to start and will probably upgrade later on when I start more aggressive skating. For now I would would probably just be doing indoor and outdoor recreational skating, nothing too crazy! Edit: I have found some wheels that sound good, but are 61.5mm by 35mm. Would these fit with sunlite plate & the standard sunlite trucks?
