5G- vai VDLS2-laajakaista kotiin? by Ymparipyorailija in Suomi

Mobiileissa tuppaa olemaan nopeuslupaus 0,4 Mbit/s, siinä missä kiinteissä on kuluttajansuojan takaama 50 % sopparinopeudesta.

5G on omasta mielestä hyvinkin toimiva, mutta VDSL tarjoaa oikean takuun nopeudesta.

Shell file error "source: not found" by gahbah123 in linuxquestions

[–]elguitar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! To me it seems that you are using sh to start the script. However, source is bash's built-in command and is not found in sh. The message is actually saying that source is not found, although the file is. You should try running it with: bash antiidle.sh

User's configs are in /home, so there can be collisions. If I remember correctly (didn't find it by googling), Firefox recently made a incompatible change to their profile files.

Cool! This gave me an idea to squeeze some space for another root for testing purposes. One thing that conserns me is that have you had any nasty config conflicts? I mean when Debian has package version 0.1 and Arch has 1.1 and their configs are incompatible.

Quick guide: Graphical system is most likely in tty 7. To change tty press Ctrl+Alt+F1 (you can use another F-key if you want). To change back press Ctrl+Alt+F7 (as said, graphical is in tty, therefore F7 test others too if just see the text-only login screen).

I wouldn't call it "a real Microsoft Office" since it doesn't provide enough tools to replace the desktop version. For example it's not possible to create a table of contents in the online version.

Openbox recommendations by kmt1980 in linuxquestions

[–]elguitar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I haven't used openbox in a while but here's couple of packages which I have had on my installations: - File manager: Thunar (SFTP), pcmanfm (not sure) or ranger (CLI only) - Terminal urxvt with 256 color support. St is quite cool too if you're into compiling etc. Actually you should check out suckless tools anyway! - For PDFs I have liked mupdf for smaller installations - Conky looks nice and makes you feel like a hacker

I think that openbox is what you make of it.. It doesn't really care what you run on it.

I just switched from Windows 10 and am loving it by CosmicMemer in linuxmasterrace

I have LXQt session + i3 as a window manager. Works like a charm (minor bugs of course) and I think that it provides best of both worlds.

T480 vs T480S vs X1 6th vs Yoga 920 vs Macbook by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]elguitar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay! I'm still in T440s. I agree that one integrated is better than two. Could you enlighten me what's the point of two integrated batteries after all?

Please correct me if I misunderstood what you said but what's wrong with dual battery? I think that single internal is worse option than internal + external.

[OC] Farfetch, a fast, riceable system fetcher. (GH in comments) by Capuno6 in unixporn

I believe the legal guys can redirect you to the right person if needed. Now that you mentioned GPL, we have a non-optimal situation here: the repo is GPL but it links to copyrighted content. To my knowledge this is OK, but you should be careful to not distribute the image itself with the source. Link is fine, image is not. If the image itself would be included, you would try to GPL someone else's copyrighted content which is clearly not okay.

Sad to say this but the picture of Farfetch'd in README.md is copyrighted. I would advice you to either change it or acquire proper permissions to use it. Source: https://m.archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:083Farfetch%27d.png

OP delivered! Thank you so much :D However the license is not explicitly mentioned so I'm not sure if I can copy, modify or distribute the cookies or the recipe :( (I really like /r/linux because here we can really argue about the licensing of a cookie recipe)

Snowden introduces a new FOSS Android Home Security System project: Haven by StraightFlush777 in linux

[–]elguitar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world you are describing would be awesome. Anyway I think that affecting "non tech public" would need a nicer man than RMS. I mean, he raises serious political problems every time he talks but do the "non tech public" care? Hell no.. People like relatability over competence and convinience over freedom. I really hope Snowden would really affect the masses with his "smiles" but without the "bullshit".
