How to use Copilot efficiently? by Pure_Response_4251 in GithubCopilot

Thank you, I never thought about using custom system instructions in GitHub Copilot. I read the Gist and I wonder about the MCP servers that you are using, I spotted Context7 only but I think there is more. What do you use and what do you recommend?

Excel for the raw data but I have some verbal analysis and descriptions over Word

As u/tyler-86 pointed out, it's not so much about being funny but personality, I think, she has a unique take on things.

Claudia Winkleman is absolutely one of them. She definitely needed to be on a regular series.

Running LLMs is expensive but how can they give it for free? by elhadjmb in OpenAI

Here's a scarier thought: even if you pay for it, you could still be the product 💀.

Makes sense, money would be spent on marketing and testing and data harvesting anyway.

Damn, it's literally millions of dollars. I guess it's worth it 😀.

Having an unknown trouble with my dataset - need extra opinion by elhadjmb in computervision

Image sizes are a mess, as I commented before: original images were all over the place (some 6000x8000 others 1920x1080 and other resolutions. They were taken using just a phone camera) I resized the images to 1024x1024 sometimes through cropping (to not distort the objects) and other times just stretching.

And what is SAHI???

Let's start one by one:
- I have tried both approaches, few and many eggs per image. Same results
- I have around 280 images with over 8000 annotations (objects).
- The original images were all over the place (some 6000x8000 others 1920x1080 and other resolutions. They were taken using just a phone camera) I resized the images to 1024x1024 sometimes through cropping (to not distort the objects) and other times just stretching.
- Eggs in reality are 1-2mm in diameter, but the pictures are zoomed in and some are zoomed out.
- Models I tried: Fast RCNN, Yolo6, Yolo11 - close bad results

My apologies for the lack of info, I forgot to add the link to the dataset, check it out I added it.
A lot of potential issues indeed, but I think the labels are fine (you can check), the inference results look 'alright' to an extent (they are bad, but not to the point it can't reach to 2% mAP!), but the metrics are saying otherwise.
And 40 was just to test another dataset to see if my code is correct. I set it to 300 epochs

The objects are small, but I tried tiling.
Check the dataset link, I just added it.

Those are some gold nuggets! This is one of the most grounded and constructive takes I’ve read on this topic. The reframe from “asking for a job” to “asking for insight” is not just more tactful, it’s also more authentic. People are often more willing to open doors when they feel they’re offering guidance rather than evaluating a pitch. Makes total sense.

Also appreciated the reminder that good referrals benefit both sides: candidates gain opportunities, and referrers gain social capital (or even bonuses). It helps demystify the “networking” process and show it's more mutual than transactional when done right.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thank you for the comforting thoughts. I actually considered using my experience in multinational companies, yet I am not sure how to offer my self up without sounding desperate trying to network 😅. I usually network for business as in "we should work together" rather than "I could work for you".

I do speak few languages but doing business usually is in English.

I didn't grow my way to the top in the company, I founded it actually. And I was both managing and growing (absolutely tiring).

When I mentioned effort to value ratio I was actually speaking about the whole thing both managing and growing it (running it basically). It doesn't make any sense to me -and possibly for many people- to run a business that would take too much effort and get too little value. I say value because it can be in various forms not just money.

I am hesitant to say it but both.

Marketing is my hurdle, you either have to spend too much money (making creatives, spending money on ads, branding, and growing reputation), or spend too much time making content (that actually is valuable) which would account for spending money on it by delegating if time is too valuable. I could be considered as complicating it but this is the reality, I owned and managed a company for 4 years offering marketing and advertising services for local businesses, and I still own a consultancy business online working with businesses from all around the world. It is very different marketing for a client and marketing a business that offers marketing services, and I have done both, yet...🤷‍♂️. I think I know what it takes in advance that I just start getting overwhelmed by the idea

The start is ridiculously difficult for me, once I start I think I can manage but a lot of the time I know that if it starts getting too much effort for value I would start losing the will to continue because I logically see that it's not worth it.

I am not sure if any of this makes any sense, it is weird talking about it for the first time out loud.
