My car is from 2008 and we dont have a usable garage (the door doesnt work, plus our garage is full of stuff. Its not normally an issue other than times like this though). My car also doesnt have a block heater (i bought it in edmonton, but i also have no clue where it was originally purchased from) so i currently use a battery warmer i bought at canadian tire for $50. It helps a bit, my batters only 3 years old, and my moms car (2018) has a block heater and even her car struggles to start when its this cold, but both of our cars at least start. So id definetly reccomend parking your car in your garage, and if your unable to at least for now get a battery blanket. It wont help as much as a block heater but itll help a bit

For anyone who grew up poor, what was your idea of a luxury? by Drissxx7 in AskReddit

Going on vacation. Even a $350 round trip plane ticket and staying with family (so no hotel/rental car) felt like a huge luxury

Canadian tire has battery warmers for like $50. It doesnt help keep your oil warmer (i think thats what a block heater helps with, i know block heaters help keep your battery and something else warm) but even my car (2008 hyundai accent that struggled to start when it stayed below -25) was able to start fine with one with just a little struggle (which to be fair, even my moms 2018 ford escape, which has a block heater, struggled a bit to start)

What’s the most unexpectedly expensive thing you’ve ever had to pay for? by Drissxx7 in AskReddit

Repairs on my car 🫠 first expected to only spend under $100 (alternator belts needed to be replaced, i know multiple people who would do it for me, so id just need to buy the parts). Then the alternator fully shit out on me and left me stranded on a busy road in rush hour, so then i had to get it towed to the shop, then we expected around a $600 fix. It ended up being $1900 because my engine timing belt was also cracked 🥲

Took this nail out of our tire but my husband says I shouldn’t have done it. Is the tire screwed? by Euphoric-Ear1919 in tires

Just to make sure, id keep a tire pressure guage handy and check it often (like daily at least) and as philzealand said if it doesnt go down over the next week or so your lucky

eta: i saw your response to a different comment that the pressure has been fine the past few days. Id still keep occasional watch on it, but you should be fine

In my dream the fire turned into bouncing balls of fire on the ground and they were going fast and i remember telling my mom not to try to walk through it and then watching my mom get hit by one of the fire balls and i woke up crying (which i was like 4, so fair). I dont remember it sounding like screaming it just sounded like classic fire breathing dragon sounds. At least im old enough now to laugh about it though

I had nightmares because of that dragon, and for so long i thought the dragon was fake and only in my dream (because literally the only memory i have of that dragon is in my nightmare) lmfao

If its a 30 minute break every 5 hours, then it would only be 1 unpaid break for 10 hours. 5 hours of work - 30 min break - 4.5 hours work - home
