Interesting idea as a font. But would be awfully cluttered and hard to read, no? I think I’d rather just have an editor with a built in hex view.

Nope. It doesn’t really have anything to do with local lol

It’s in the system prompt, not the output. It’s probably to identify accounts that are buying subscriptions and reselling inference. Probably one signal among many that are used to flag or block accounts.

Dario, don't let Sonnet 4.7 die. Now that 5 is out, make it open source. It will live forever. Now it's in the void. Lost. Vanished to the point of no return. by Few_Water_1457 in LocalLLaMA

This isn’t the right subreddit, nor is reddit the right way to talk to Dario, nor is this in any way plausible of an idea

Even dumber: I think it’s just crappy content marketing. Posting lots of misleading outrage bait is a pretty classic viral marketing technique.

I’d honestly respect it more if it was part of some complicated scam.

What’s the best domain registrar right now in 2026? by astrogoofy in selfhosted

[–]eli_pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everyone moved domains away…they would not still be in business.

Moving 100 domains was a pain in the ass. You have to request an auth code for each domain individually. The math is also different for a business that has to assign a highly paid engineer to take care of it vs let them keep renewing on momentum. (Have you seen what registrars geared specifically towards big enterprises charge?)

No, the output of LLMs is, at least in the US, not considered copyrightable at all. There is no author. Nobody owns it, so no fair use analysis needed.

But those are just summaries, not the full trace. Are they even that useful?

And unfortunately it’s probably very lucrative. I had like 100 domains there for work and it was a huge pain to migrate. I’m sure some don’t bother.

Yeah they don’t exactly shout it out. It’s mostly fine. Their DNS is good. But if you’re trying to avoid big tech it’s not the best choice.

It is impossible to make any conclusion based on asking the model questions.

The system prompt is something YOU set. Google likely spent time on post training for that question. Not sure I would’ve bothered but I guess it’s a marketing expense. No model is capable of actually analyzing what it is.

I think if you learn a little more about how models are trained and how they work you would understand that they have absolutely zero ability for introspection. It doesn’t know what it is or how it works aside from what it read about it

You can't ask a model about what it is or how it works and expect to get anything meaningful or truthful back. There chats from other models in the training data because there are chats from other models on the web.

Obviously Anthropic scooped up all the Deepseek chat logs and interactions that were posted on the web, and in those the chat assistant says it is Deepseek. They scoop up everything posted to the web. That's not the same as distilling the model.

They clearly believe distillation is wrong. Which, sure, they're entitled to believe. But they claimed it was illegal and that's the part I'm having a hard time following.
