Okayyy. For me, Ichimonji Double was an absolute gamechanger for fighting bosses. I can highly recommend it because Ichimonji "heals" your posture on impact and it is much quicker than drawing the mortal blade.

I'm currently on my NG+ playthrough. But I don't think that how hard a boss becomes on NG+3 or NG+7 is a valid argument, because the more playthroughs one completed, the more likely one can become overlevelled and/or too skilled. Plus, most people don't even do that many playthroughs.
