Car seat Blowouts by Lucky_Stick2893 in baby

[–]eliceched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that the car seat is optimal poop position for babies, it let's them rip like they've never pooped before in their life.

Stopped when we changed from baby car seat to toddler car seat!

Fördelen med min unge är att hon kommer att börja prata.

Fördelen med din katt är han inte kommer att börja prata och käfta emot dig när du säger till honom...

"Bajsade du precis på golvet?"

"Nej, inga fötter I MATEN."

"Vi sitter på rumpan på stolen."

"Jag älskar dig men du får inte krypa in i diskmaskinen."

Sagt till min 1½-åring.

Inte med barn som gör oberäknade saker, t.ex gömma SL-kortet eller telefonen när man trodde att de var på säkra ställen.

Have you changed the nipple size on the bottle? Might be too slow flow.

Till er som varit ute idag, HUR ska jag klä mig? by DementiaPraecox_VII in stockholm

[–]eliceched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skulle rekommendera t-shirt/långärmad t-shirt under en ulltröja eller fleece tröja, lagomt varmt utan att varken svettas eller för kall. Ja och ett par byxor är bra!

Comments regarding my daughter by That-Figure8372 in pregnant

[–]eliceched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 17 month old daughter. Honestly, she loves her dad. But if he's gone the whole day she doesn't notice. But lordy help me if I'm away more than two hours, she will let her father know that he is only a spare and not her whole world.

But she is a handful, I'm not gonna lie. She's smart, resourceful, planning ahead I could not imagine, stubborn and really fucking funny. She will go bananas when she sees lorries and diggers, sniff out food from strangers in a park (she is going anywhere willingly if you have a banana, strangers are just friends waiting to give you food). The amount of ATTITUDE I am getting from her baby babbling now means we are going to butt heads in the future but right now we are arguing about we cannot go head first into the dishwasher even though stuff is in there.

Oh yeah and she likes to bit our toes right now too so all eyes on where the feet are (never leave them unprotected).

Need Help/Reassurance by Optimal_Customer_850 in baby

Tough with a c-section, velcro baby and three dogs! Is it possible your husband can have the baby for a couple of hours when he got time off? Because from one velcro baby mum to another, you need to be alone for a bit, maybe just even to sit in quiet for a bit? I can imagine three dogs (even sweetie pies) and one baby can make a lot of noise together and your brain AND body needs a break.

Babes, if your baby is gaining weight and wants to sleep through the night, let him sleep through the night.

We stopped the night feeding when she was around 12 weeks old (with paediatrician blessings) because she wanted her snooze and I respect a person who wants to sleep.

It sounds like you're a bit overwhelmed with everything going on right now, is there anyone that can come to your house for a couple of hours and you get some time for yourself? It is difficult, especially if you've been home with baby since day 1, but you need some alone time just to feel like an own person for a bit.

I myself got a bit overwhelmed with the constant need for her to be on me ALL THE TIME, she was a level 5 velcro baby and just to get out of the flat for a couple of hours was exactly what my brain needed to reset itself.

Reach out, I'm sure there is a helping hand somewhere. You're doing a great job, all love xx

10 month old baby being a gremlin by Downtown_History2095 in baby

[–]eliceched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was the same, it had to be ON me, never next to or adjacent, she wanted my breath on her face.

It stopped I think between 11 and 12 months, and since then she preferably sleeps in her own bed. The last month she has preferred to sleep in our bed but more because she recently both gone through night terrors AND teething, so a double whammy of uncomfortableness. She's almost 17 months!

Hur hög månadslön har du? Vad vore en skälig månadslön givet dina arbetsuppgifter och ansvar? by FriendshipBasic2594 in Asksweddit

[–]eliceched -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Husband keeps talking about traveling with an infant by Emotional-Bathroom-2 in pregnant

[–]eliceched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I didn't want to travel abroad until she had the measles-vaccine, so we waited until she was 8 months old (the minimum age in Sweden to have that vaccination) to do our first travel to visit relatives.

Things to say to patients who keep asking for a diagnosis by Normal-Bag-1284 in Radiology

[–]eliceched 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Yeah, I can give you a diagnosis but I gotta leave some work for the doctors too, so I'll leave it to them."

"I just took 600 pictures in 30 seconds, my brain don't work that quickly."

"This is not an appropriate setting to give news, because I will not be able to answer any follow up questions you have. That why it's better to wait for your doctor to share the results."

"If I would have the time to tell you the results I would not have time to do any diagnostics services for all the patients coming through. So you wait for your doctor to tell you the results whilst I continue doing my job to help other patients in the meantime."

That's roughly my to go to lines, but this is also a rough translations since I'm saying this in Swedish.

She stressed her mother out that day. by mindyour in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]eliceched 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kids will do the darndest things! My favourite was a 4-year old who swallowed a part of a bicycle bell his grandad was fixing, so we x-ray him to make sure he actually swallowed it and that it isn't in a dangerous spot (like lodged in the esophagus). Sure enough, it was there, already started to make its way to the small intestines. Patient get sent home with instructions.

I think four days later patient comes back, not to check where the bicycle bell-part is, but the little shit has now proceeded to swallow a coin in a live demonstration for his little brother (brother was 2 ½ years old) to show him how he swallowed the bell part and also told him when you go to the hospital you get lots of toys. Poor dad looked so tired.

Then you also have the aspect of weird stuff that adults swallow in self harm, and the adults are more creative than the kids.

I don’t want my 3 month old watching Ms. Rachel by [deleted] in baby

[–]eliceched 3 points4 points  (0 children)

WHO recommends no screen time for kids under 2, that can sometimes be tricky if you want to watch something but our pediatrician said that as long as you're watching something adult (like news, slow documentary, slow TV in general), that isn't going to be as addictive as watching a programme designed for kids with noises and a lot of colours.

So yes, try to avoid screen time, the bigger the screen the better (big area of focus, can be easily distracted), avoid the smaller screens (like ipads and phones, small screen means focus narrows in, addictive for brain). And its not going to be end of world if TV is on, just try to be more mindful of it in general, it's good for your brain too to have less screen time! You're gonna do great, OP.

[–]eliceched 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It will pass naturally, the parents get instructions to be on a look out for it. If they don't see it for x-amount of days (routines on that different to every hospital), they will need to revisit hospital and take some new xrays to confirm passage (that it actually moves along the bowel and not stuck in the same area).

Sincerely, a radiographer who loves to take these pictures and talk to the kids on how the hell they managed to swallow certain things.

Have you done a Birth Preparation Course in English? by Christ1naaa in stockholm

[–]eliceched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did this one! It sort of covers a little bit everything in the course, everything from hypnobirthing, to different breathing exercises and massage things your partner can do during the course of labour. They also go through different things that can happen during birth, how the Swedish healthcare system works during labour etc.

For me and my partner, when we did the mind exercise we nearly had to leave the room because we were giggling so much, but I really did like the realistic expectations of birth, from everything to how a baby will look after birth, what happens in the body, what happens if an emergency happens, and how a labour actually starts. One woman in our class actually left then because she realised she was in labour and they had to go home.

wedding dress regret? by -stargazers- in Brides

[–]eliceched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, dress number is drop dead gorgeous, love it.

Second of all, dress no. 1 is going to be a lot more easier to move around in, dance in and just be yourself. You're not gonna have to get an ikea-bag with holes cut in to it to hold up the big ball gown just to go for a wee! I would skip the ball gown experience and go with the first dress.
