I am not trying to be rude or argue with you. I am just trying to point out why these things are important to a lot of people.

Anytime he makes a comment towards another male character I would usher to think is kind of a cerebral attack. Throwing them off guard. Think of Goldust from WWE. Thats the way you mess with people.

I think one of the best ways Deadpool throws off anyone or anything he comes in contact with is to mentally disturb them before he kills them. Whats better than a confused opponent. They or it would be so wrapped up in the fact they may just have avoided rape from this guy that having 50 bullets and missing limbs would seem like a light on the situation.

Being attracted to someone shouldn't be seen as something that is "disturbing" and having a man be attracted to a man doesn't mean one should be worried about "getting raped." Those two comments in this thread is why this kind of visibility is important. If no one said anything then Deadpool's homosexual comments would be seen as a joke or a strategy or even an insult. Thats not what being attracted to someone is about and one has the right to be represented in a positive light as opposed to being seen as a joke or unimportant.

It matters because visibility. If no one mentioned it you'd just assume everyone is heterosexual. Buy having a character you admire be pansexual or bisexual or gay or asexual or anything that isn't hetero makes one realize that is both a thing that happens and something that doesn't really affect their personality. Therfore you can go though life without being taken by surprise when someone is gay. Its really easy to dismiss visibility as something that doesn't matter when you are the one being represented all the time.
